I am putting this out there hoping for any knowledge about relocating to WDW. I haven't recieved a start date yet( oct or nov) but have figured i would try to stay at an extended stay motel/hotel near the world till after training period ( 3 weeks). then try to figure out area and go to apt in a safe area when ready. Any tips on where to stay for a resonable weeky rate or even a monthly if no lease, need furnished to get started.nothing fancy just safe. I will be bye myself and the job is a base with commissions so money will be tight for at least 6 or 7 months. I am moving from Ohio where my wife and college age kids will stay for awhile until ready for them.

There are a couple of places called "Home Suite Home" on 192 which advertise in Eyes and Ears. They charge Disney Cast $129 per week. This includes kitchenette, local phone, internet, maid service. They have a pool and laundromat on premises and a bus stop right in front. No lease is required.

I will try and google and contact them as a starting point. If you have anything else to share it would be greatly appreciated. TY

I don't have an answer for you, but how exciting for you. I hope that everything works out well.

I checked Extended Stay America, and the one at the Convention Center on Westwood had some very good prices for a long term stay. I would definitely call them.

I put in a month and got a studio for $19.99 a night! http://www.extendedstayamerica.com/...d=ESH&directbill=&promoCode=&destpage=lodging

Accommodations

Our studios provide the comforts and conveniences that long-term travelers value most, including kitchens with full-size appliances, on-site laundry facility, computer data ports and separate sleeping, living and working areas.

No advice, but congrats on the job. Please let us know how it works out for you:earsboy:

Are you running away from the snow? I would, too !!!

Idea -
Use some DVC Points (Sunday-Thrs).
Take the Magical Express Bus. (Airport Transformation)
Rent a car at the Dolphin Alamo/ Hertz for a few days, might think of a weekly rate which could be cheaper. Drive around for check out properties/ apartments.

We scoped this out last June.

Take World Drive to Magic Kingdom. Continue past Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary. At the intersection turn right on Center Drive.[Monorail Facility] Turn left at Reams Road. Apartment complex to your right -1000 ft? Disney friendly /w employee discount. You almost could walk to Disney University if that's where your train facility would be. Should be buses there too.

Google satellite map has apartment complex as an empty sand lot, but there's five building now. Look for Desert Haven St., Oasis Cove Bld, Serenity Springs Drive, Enchantment Drive to identify this location. I have their bourchure? in storage - can't recall the name. It is there. We stopped in again last June

Ask DVC - they will surely have posting of places to rent on an employees web site bulletin board somewhere.

We relocated three years ago, but couldn't sell the house and had to move back to the cold north. Can provide more info.

Places like Exstended Stay are expense. We where paying about $100 per day. Rented a furnished apartment for a 30 day training period - $100 per day. Then 11 days at a Residence Inn. $100 per day.
Finally signed a years lease.

Have a list of what you might need, then have family ship UPS to your location. You can specify delivery days.

Good luck.
