Hello All,

We are trying to think of the best way to carry our money on our trip coming up :woohoo: (16 days). I was thinking of using Reloadable Visa Cards. We could just put a certain amount for each day and reload them at the end of the night for the next day. But I am not sure if they work that way. I am not even sure how to put the money on each day. My question is..

Has anyone ever done this? If so , how did you like it? Is it easy to reload?

Thank you all,

We use one every trip because if we use our normal visa we will pay high fees for foreign exchange.
So we use a card that we can upload to upload US currency, we do when we visit more than one country move currency from one wallet to another but we don't empty and reload daily as you are suggesting.

You can use them for Disney, I prefer to travel with something that isn't directly linked to my bank and savings accounts, so this is the primary way I pay for my vacations. However, I'm pretty sure you can't use it in the way that you are thinking because you must reload at a reloading station... unless you use a greendot card, which is like a gift card that reloads the reloadable cards. I think that's far more complicated than necessary, though. Why not just buy a card for each day you are there?

Or, if your whole trip is at Disney, maybe Disney gift cards? And you can leave off a day or two, and either reload or buy as you feel necessary

I've been with re-loadable AmEx cards, and they work pretty well for holding your money safely. It sounds like you're looking for the type of reloadable card that you can go online and transfer money from your bank account. The problem there is that those reloads by transfer are not instant and take a couple of days to process (sort of like transferring money to your bank account out of paypal, if that makes any sense).
I think some banks offer re-loadable type cards that you can do instant transfers from other accounts at that bank. Or you could open a secondary checking account (if your bank doesn't have ridiculous fees) and use the debit card for that account, transferring more money in from your main account every night.
