I think it is time to back away slowly and agree to disagree becuse the topic of relegion is a very sensitive area and a lot of different views can float around on this topic.

There's always a little bit of a debate before a thread dies down..

Some Catholic schools have a zero homosexuality rule.

I've read stories of kids who've gotten expelled for coming out in a really strict Catholic school.

I've read stories too.
And I can see why they may get expelled and such. But I don't know..

I wish I could go to Catholic school. But my parents don't want to spend the extra money on tuition :(
It's honestly just like public school except less kids, dress codes, Religion class, Prayers in the mornings, and we go to church on Holy Days.

It's not like on TV with nuns, praying in Church all day, reading the Bible, and getting smacked by teachers.

YES. I am saying the idea that nothing has always been is dumb. It's dumb to think that. NO I am not saying the person that thinks that thought is dumb. I think dumb thoughts all the time. Does that mean i'm dumb? NO.

Why not? It's a religion thread.

Whoah. Don't pull out the age card. I may be younger, but that doesn't mean i'm not as intelligent or mature.

This thread wasn't started to argue. If it keeps up,Travis will close it.

I don't =/

i go to a catholic school. my religion teacher this year, a rather annoying short and plump lady, a mid-40's soccer mom, taught that being gay is not a sin and that everyone should respect gay people (we are all god's children etc.) that's been the consensus with all the other religion teachers.

All the Catholic schools around me are not like that..
My school is not strict at all.
And only a handful of the kids in my school are extremely religious..

That's what my school told us too..

This thread wasn't started to argue so you didn't really need to start up.

I'm sorry if I came of as arguing. It's hard to decipher tones on a message board i know.

But I wasn't arguing.

I know. This thread was created because I was bored and wanted to debate about religion.

And, I was going to debate about the big bang with you (which I guess is what you believe has always been) but if you don't want to that's fine.

Well, it could be true. It's not illegal like it would be in public schools.
Private schools can kinda do what they want.
They don't even have to hire teacher with proper teaching credentials.

Yes that may be true, but each school has guidlines under there state system, private or public. If a system was unaffliated with no boundaries and student s came out of that school looking to be accepted into a university it wouldn't happen.

Guidelines, yes.
Strictly enforced rules, no.

I want a change. I want something that I can connect to my beliefs.
And there is a Catholic school near me that I've been dying to go to for years. It's such a good high school, but so expensive :(

I'm sorry, I just get very argumentative.

Most schools like that have scholarships you can earn.
Is that possible?

Guidelines, yes.
Strictly enforced rules, no.
But rules like the one we were speaking of would give so much negative attention to a school either public or private they would shoot themselves in the foot by expeklling a student for that. Especially those small schools that are hanging on every thread to survived by each student attending.

You could try and qualify for financial aid.
But it's extremely hard to get scholarships (at least for the schools near me).

I knew as soon as I saw the header of Religion that shortly there would be a heated debate. Relegion cannot go without that because people have such strong views that differ in so many ways.

What's that? Lol.
It's hard for me...considering well look below haha.

I went to a public middle school. And the Catholic HS around here only give scholarships to Catholic school students in 8th grade that were going to a Catholic HS. So I didn't qualify :(
