Relentless Forward Motion (a.k.a. Running towards 40)

Yay Amy!!! What a great week you had! Very solid!!! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry your run Sunday didn't turn out as well, but you still had a really great time and your week just looks awesome! for the leg pain.

I know you will definately PR a few of your races this year!!!

Spinlates...Sound interesting!

Never heard how you liked your running skirt...but...if you want/need another, I managed to finagle a discount of 20% off at runningskirts.com for the month of April only. They look really nice a tad bit longer than the skirtsports.com ones. There is a thread on the events board...

Hope you have a great day!
Stacie

Thanks Stacie! I was thinking of buying a running skirt from that website. Now I'll definitely buy one...that's awesome that they gave us an April discount!! :goodvibes

Hey Amy. :goodvibes Your past week looks awesome to me. I know how hard you are on yourself...but take a step back and look at all you DID accomplish! :thumbsup2 Chasing after Scott's times?? Better you than me, girl. :upsidedow I can't even chase after your times these days!!

Sorry about the leg discomfort. Keep training smart (turning 'round at 3 miles WAS smart :) ) and you'll PR for sure. :yay:

I know... me too. I'm so excited. I've been wanting to try one, but they are so expensive! I'm think now is the time for me to try one too! Yay!

Amy,

It's that your DD is adjusting to life in casts so well. She's a versatile little trooper, isn't she?

And I know I have mentioned this before, but I'm glad the memorial service gave you the opportunity to say goodbye and pay tribute to your friend's spirit.

And to say your week is solid is an understatement! :goodvibes You've got all that healthy XT AND a rest day. I have to admit, I look at your schedule, with the variety that keeps you so strong & motivated, and I tweak my own schedule. Yeah, I'm a copycat. :rolleyes1

I'm sorry about your bad run, though, even as it consoles me when I have less than stellar days. You're a wonder, woman! :goodvibes

Hey Amy,
I hope everything is going well. How is your DD holding up? Playing the trumpet with casts on, that is pretty good.

Thanks for your continued support- I need it right now and your motivation is usually catching!!!!!!!!!

Take care,
Linda

Amy, WOW!!! What a week you had! I think if my week looked like that, i would have dropped by now! LOL I just want HALF of your energy!
And wow... you are FAST!!! I am so afraid i will totally be in the dust at the 5k!

Hey girl. Checkin' in on my running guru. Hope all is well with you. Can't believe I'm finally going to meet you in May - even if I do have to go all the way to WDW to do it!

(just practicing my sneaky running ;) )

Hey chick! How ya feeling? How are those legs???

Hope you've had a good weekend!

Stacie

Hey Amy,

I was wondering how your weekend went. How was your LR? Any issues with your hi?

Have a great week.
Beth

Hello everyone...

Scott, Linda, Stacie, Tracy, Kim, Stacy, Debra  Thanks guys for stopping by!

My legs are feeling better...although my left foot has some phantom pain in the arch area. :confused3 I think that it's getting better, or at least not getting worse, even with having run on it. Funny thing is that I think it happened during spin class last Tuesday. Anyway....the leg pains and foot pain did slow me down a bit in the workout dept last week. Here's the review:

Monday: Rest Day (taught 3 classes)
Tuesday: Taught/Took Spin-lates
Wednesday: Ran 5 Miles (9:15 mpm); 30 Minutes on Bike Trainer (8 Miles); 15 Minutes at home pilates
Thursday: Taught/Took Pilates Tone Class
Friday: Ran 4 Miles Speedwork (1/2 Mile warm-up 10 mpm/1 Mile 8:00 mpm/1/2 Mile Recovery at 9:30 mpm/1 Mile 8:20 mpm/1/2 Mile Recovery at 9:30 mpm/1/2 Mile cool-down 10 mpm). Taught/took Pilates tone class
Saturday: Did at home 1 hour Advanced Pilates
Sunday: 8 Mile Run (9:20 mpm)

Taught: 9 Classes
Ran: 17 Miles
Bike/Spin: approx. 16 Miles
Pilates taken: 3.75 hours

So that's it from my world. Another week ahead. Trying to do better on mileage, possibly pace and take more pilates classes that I'm not teaching.

Hey girl! Glad you legs are better!

Looks like you had a great week! yay! :yay:

How is your DD???

Hope you have a great week!

Stacie

Looks like another amazing week in Amy world. :faint:

Glad to hear your legs feel better. You're really doing a great job with listening to your body. :thumbsup2

Any trips to the shore planned this year? :rolleyes1

wow.. another great week Amy!!! You go girl!!!

Hi buddy ol' pal ol' Aimsteroni

Know what I've noticed?? I don't see any runs that start out with the number '10' anymore!!! If you really look at your running over the course of the last few months, you can see a HUGE progression...a 'relentless forward motion' if you will.

Anyway, I'm so SUPER proud of you  and you've done it while maintaining an impressive array of cross training and pilates workouts & teachings.

:worship:

Way to go Amy! :thumbsup2

What a great & varied week you've had! Am I reading your post right, that your phantom arch pain occurs in connection with your spinning class & not running? Strange.... Anyway, I hope it subsides without further issue.

You know what impresses me most--that after teaching your Pilates classes you look forward to taking them from other instructors. I mean, it makes sense in so many ways, but still....What's your favorite thing about taking a class in your area of expertise from someone else? Just curious.

Your week looks good to me Amy.The foot pain must have something to do with positioning on the pedals for you.

How is your DD doing? Is it much longer for the casts?

Thanks for your encouragement!!!!!!!!!
Linda
