Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

One Man's Dream is being refurbbed (new verb)??? :faint: Will it reopen in time for October? I agree w/ both of you. Love OMD and CoP. Also agree on People Mover.

And I would say that just stopping and relaxing and taking it all in is underrated. Seems (to me anyway) that too many people are busy just running to the next thing and miss out on lots of the little details, people watching opportunities etc.

I didn't get to comment on your overrated question. I'd say Test Track is overrated. I don't know... it just doesn't do it for me. :confused3

Hurrah for 28 days. That is around the corner!!

I agree with both of your answers for the most under-rated! COP and One Man's Dream!! COP is disney to me! Completely classic! It's also one of the things I remember from my trip as a kids! I remember thinking it was so cool that we were moving in a theater! I LOVE OMD! I could spend hours in there looking around!

I feel like I'm taking Disney confession. My heart broke just a teeny bit with the TSM comment but I can respect that. Did you have the potatoes at Le Cellier? It's allllll in the potatoes. :rotfl:

It is a bit like Disney confession time because I don't know as if I have ever had the nerve to admit that I think TSM is overrated. I do like it, don't get me wrong -- I just don't understand the completely zealous nature of its die-hard fans. :lmao:

The kids got the potatoes -- I made the error of getting salmon (which was good), but the sides were the strangest things I have ever seen in my life. They looked like some sort of weird modern art installations. I did eat some of Connor's potatoes, and they were quite delicious!

Things that are underrated at Disney? I am going to have to go with Animal Kingdom as an entire park on this one. I read so much about how people skip the park when they don't have a long trip (ahhemmm! ;)) I feel such a deep abiding peace in that park. I love every single thing about it. :lovestruc Well, except for the heat.

Hmmmmm...underrated...hmmmm...this is a tough one...I'm going to have to think on this...I'm having a hard time coming up with anything!! I have to agree with Jackie that a lot of stuff at the Animal Kingdom is underrated, I believe the trails have already been mentioned and I love those especially near rope drop!!

YAY for 28 days!! WOOT WOOT!

Your PTR is so much fun! I just love this countdown.

Most underrated....I agree with you on the CoP! A CM has actually said that about the nap??!?!? WHAT?!?! :sad2: The history of that ride, the INGENIOUS that it was...it's such a great attraction!!

I think the TTAPM (TTA PeopleMover) is also underrated. Love, love, LOVE that ride. I love how the Imagineers thought of this technology and how it takes you all over Tomorrowland. I prefer the old soundtrack, but don't mind the new either. Especially since Tom Morrow is back. :thumbsup2

I have to say Innoventions as well. This is often breezed over - even by us - but every time we do explore it a bit, we have a great time in there! We are kinda geeky, so maybe that's why....

And wearing yellow tights and gogo boots to work.

:lmao: Oh hilarious!!!

28 days!! (more like 27 today!) :dance3:

I have to agree AK is kinda overrated! Don't get me wrong. . .I go, but I can spend one day there and be totally good. Just as long as I get to ride the few favorites I have there!!

Ok, back to the original question . . .I agree about OMD and CoP! Those are great, and I, too, am sad OMD will be closed! :guilty: OH well. What can you do?? I think Spaceship Earth- the actual ride- not its housing is underrated! I love that ride- so much fun! Hmm. . .I think the resturant Marrakesh is underrated too! It is fantastic! I'm sad we couldn't eat there in my up coming trip, but we are trying some new places!!

Tinkerbellarella and princess&her4princes, I didn't know you guys had PTRs for September. I'm moseing over there, too! :drive:

I agree with a lot of the attractions mentioned here, particularly One Man's Dream, the TTA and the trails at AK. Another one I'd like to add is Tom Sawyer's Island. I'm affraid that even I'm guilty of overlooking this one a lot, but it's really a nice retreat from the rest of the park. There are so many interesting things to see and explore.

Just wanted to let you know that I am still reading along. I am interested to see what my answers to your questions will be when I get back.

Most underrated? The PeopleMover.

And wearing yellow tights and gogo boots to work.

I don't think the value of wearing yellow tights and gogo boots to work can every be underrated.

Most underrated for me is the Swiss Family Treehouse. I adore it, and love to wander through it imagining myself moving it. I have to go through it at least once a trip, even though my family thinks I'm nuts. I so want to live in the room at the top. I guess I should be happy that it's a bit underrated as it's easier for me to tour it leisurely.

:cool1: 27 More Days! :cool1: I'm not even sure how many I have. I think its like 30! 30 - Woot for me!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I will have to agree that One Man's Dream and CoP are pretty underrated. I also loved Sum of All Thrills and that doesn't seem to be quite as popular as I thought it would be. Which is ok = More rides for me!!!!!!!

I would also have to agree that the Flying Fish is underrated. I had a fabulous meal there.

Yeah for 27 days.....it will be here before you know it!

Most underrated - I agree that CoP is a GREAT, and often overlooked attraction! If I were there, I would have been so mad at the CM for saying time to take a nap
and the TTA - people mover - rides like these just make me remember my childhood trips to WDW :cloud9:

Also, the walking trails at Animal Kingdom...

Another good question! Ilike both of your choices, I really enjoy One Man's Dream a lot and think the CoP is interesting, too.

I think my pick would be the trails at AK. I think they have so much to offer and you can do them many times and find new things to see.

Also, for a restaurant I think Flying Fish is underrated (which reminds me, I ought to post that review on my TR tonight :goodvibes). It isn't one of those restaurants with a wow factor like Narcossee's and CG and it hasn't such a special cuisine like Jiko. I also think it suffers from being so close to the many WS restaurants. But two trips in a row we had the best meal of the trip there! :thumbsup2
I reallly want to take the time to explore the Animal Trails at AK this trip. I haven't really been on them since my trip in 2005.

Flying Fish gets great reviews here on the DIS. I wish I could have fit it in on this trip, I really want to go there. The light fixtures alone look like they are worth checking out! :rotfl2:

Ok I have to say my overrated thing and you have to PROMISE not to hit me ok??

Cream Cheese Pretzel :duck:

I mentioned it before but I absolutely  WDW pretzels and I LOVE cream cheese but this just didn't work.

Underrated: TTA I am so glad its underrated because I love riding it over and over with no lines :goodvibes Oh wait...its the Tomorrowland Transity People Mover now right?! :confused3
I won't throw anything at you....yet. :rotfl2: Just kidding!!

I'm so sad about One Man's Dream being closed for our trip too. We've never walked through it and I was really hoping to on this trip. Oh well. Next time!

I too am very sad whenever I visit CoP. We are usually in the theater with about 10 other people. I remember actually having to wait in line for CoP when I was little! I love all of the scenes, except the last one. It's still SO outdated and almost comical. I wish they would do something about it. Even now, I keep singing "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow..." Gets stuck in my head every time!
I love CoP, it is just true Disney magic to me. I love everything about it, but you are right that last scene needs a refurb!

Yay for 28 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

Something that doesn't live up to it's hype for me is AK...I know, don't shoot me...but for some reason, it's just not a fav of ours....it's always 100 degrees warmer there, my kids are cranky, the animals are sleeping...idk...just not for us!

And OMG! I didn'tk now that One Man's Dream will be closed! I need to bring up the lists to see what's closed when I go, too!!!!!:scared1:
I'm not sure how long it's closed for, I think into October.

Most underrated? The PeopleMover.

And wearing yellow tights and gogo boots to work.
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: Maybe I should rock that look to work tomorrow.

Hurrah for 28 days. That is around the corner!!
I think it was re-opening in October but I'm not 100% sure.

I agree with you! That is a great answer about relaxing.

Test Track wasn't all that for me either, it was fun but it's not a must ride at all. Marc really loves it though.

I agree with both of your answers for the most under-rated! COP and One Man's Dream!! COP is disney to me! Completely classic! It's also one of the things I remember from my trip as a kids! It warms my heart that so many people agree with me about COP.

Please tell me you got pictures of your Salmon, I'm intrigued by your artsy sides. :lmao:

:rotfl2: I'm guilty of that about AK. To be honest, I think my problem with that park is that it was my ex's favorite and we spent a lot of time there so I have unpleasant memories while I'm there. Ick. I don't think of him at any of the other parks but AK it's all over there.

WOOT WOOT!
WOO HOO!. Good answer on AK. I can admit I'm an AK skimmer.

Your PTR is so much fun! I just love this countdown.

:lmao: Oh hilarious!!!
I'm having so much fun with this countdown, I think it has sparked some great conversations! I haven't spent anytime in Innoventions. It's just not my thing. :confused3

28 days!! (more like 27 today!) :dance3:

I haven't been over to Tom Sawyer's Island yet, I need to do that. What I saw of it from the Riverboat looked really neat!

I'm going to have to agree about COP being underrated - we love it!

I also think the sweet cream cheese pretzels are overrated. I had to try one on this trip, and maybe it was just the one I got, but it was not as tasty as it should be. The ones I buy from Schwans and make in my toaster oven are better.

I have ZERO time to be wordy, but want to say my answer to this would be:

The Mural in the castle. Thousands of hours of work and artistry went into it, and it shows!! It's a masterpiece of epic proportions. Stop and really look at it sometime. :thumbsup2

Just wanted to let you know that I am still reading along. I am interested to see what my answers to your questions will be when I get back.
Maybe I will have to issue a pop quiz for you when you get back. :rotfl2:

I don't think the value of wearing yellow tights and gogo boots to work can every be underrated.

I guess I should be happy that it's a bit underrated as it's easier for me to tour it leisurely.
Ahhh, that is another good one! I remember loving it when I was younger but I haven't been on it in years, I plan to do that this trip.

:cool1: 27 More Days! :cool1: I'm not even sure how many I have. I think its like 30! 30 - Woot for me!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I was really mad, I believe I "pffffft-d" out loud to him. It really upset me. Poor CoP. I think that is the attraction I am most worried about losing at Disney.

Sigh. My heart is breaking just a teeny bit. :rotfl: No, it's okay. I will admit that the one I had in January wasn't as good as the ones I had in May but I'm more than willing to try them again. :rotfl:

I have ZERO time to be wordy, but want to say my answer to this would be:

The Mural in the castle. Thousands of hours of work and artistry went into it, and it shows!! It's a masterpiece of epic proportions. Stop and really look at it sometime. :thumbsup2

That is another great answer! I agree, the mural is gorgeous!
