Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

My favorite dump shops: Everest and Tower of Terror! They have such neat stuff in both of them!

Let's see: you said to Floss that booking at the Boardwalk was a "very" good guess -- in italics, no less, but I am brain dead about where else you might have booked.

Did you book a Segway tour for the two of you to go on?

Favorite dump shop is Pirates of the Caribbean! I also really like the Tower of Terror too.

I'm guessing you upgraded resorts for a few nights :)

We have spent the most time in the dump shop off of Star Tours because they sometimes have some craZy fun stuff in there! But, it's not my favorite...I would have to say Philharmagic because I do believe it's the ONLY dump shop in MK that sells little BOYS clothing. Plus they have oodles of fun stuff in there and some great shirts.

Nope. Very good guess though.

Is that a hint? :hyper:

Hmmmm....I'm going to guess upgrade to WL, a bit of a shadowing of your last trip with Marc. :lovestruc Night swims....:cloud9:

I have a second guess too...can I say it, or is that breaking the rules?

My favorite dump shop is Splash Mountain... crazy huh? Honestly my favorite ride and they have splash stuff there! But I like EE a lot too, normally our waiting spot with our little kids!

Gosh darn it, I hate those shops. I always feel so used when I get off the rides. But if I went by atmosphere alone, I'd say Pirates.

How could I forget about EE! :scared1: That's the best shop! I think I like it so much that I don't think of it as a dump shop, but a real shop!! :goodvibes I adore those plush yetis!!

Does Sir Mickey's count as a dump shop? Snow White's Scary Adventures empties into it, but I think you can bypass it as well. I just love the theming and all the little surprises there. If that doesn't count, I'd say the shop that Impressions de France empties into. It's big ans airy and all the souvenirs of Paris are fun to look at.

My guess for the contest is you booked a romantic carriage ride at Riverside.

Someone has guessed the suprise!! A lot of you were on the right track. I will let you know what it is in my update today!!

There is a dump shop for Mickey's Philharmagic? I must have walked right by. I saw Donald all tangled in the instruments, but totally didn't stop to look!:headache: This time for sure!

Ok, my favorite dump shop. . .umm. . I would have to say the one after the Magic of Animation tour. Great stuff in there!!!

Hmm. . .the surprise. . .you booked the tour about Walt Disney? Hmm. . .wait- I'm not sure that is something you'd want to surprise Marc with. Umm. . .changed one of your nights to the Poly?
Oh, the animation one is another good dump shop. Good answer.

Guess: Upgraded your resort! :lmao:

Favorite Dump Shop: I love the EE dump shop. I am always tempted to buy one of those books about real EE expeditions. I am fascinated by that.
I haven't been in there, who knows if I ever will be....I'm too scared. :rotfl2:

My favorite dump shop is the one at the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I love all the munchkin sized stuff there. Since I never shop for myself, I hardly ever look at grown up people. DH voted for the TT dump shop. Can you tell we are from MI? :lmao:

As far as a surprise... upgraded to a king room?
That is another great dump shop, it's so cute there. :rotfl: to your DH!

I want to check out the Tower of Terror one. I bet there are a lot of neat things there.

I love the Pirates one, I love all the stuff inside and the open air feel of it.

You can guess away, just do it quick before I post my update. :rotfl2:

I have seen pictures from the splash mountain shop and it looks really neat. I vaguely remember being in there when I was younger the one time I've ridden Splash.

Gosh darn it, I hate those shops. I always feel so used when I get off the rides. But if I went by atmosphere alone, I'd say Pirates.
I like the shops, I'm a sucker for browsing shops.

How could I forget about EE! :scared1: That's the best shop! I think I like it so much that I don't think of it as a dump shop, but a real shop!! :goodvibes I adore those plush yetis!!
:lmao: You are allowed to change your answer!

Sir Mickey's does count, it's very close to where you get off Snow White. :thumbsup2

I really didn't think anyone would guess what I did, but what do I know? :lmao: Before I reveal the big change, we are going to do the countdown because they are related.

Most Romantical Moment of '08

Marc - Dinner at Kona and then watching Electric Water Pagent from the Poly Beach. When we were talking about this, Marc said this was his favorite night from our entire '08 trip. Awww. It was a great night. You have to love the atmosphere at the Polynesian.

Leslie - Night Swims at Wilderness Lodge. It is so gorgeous at WL at night, add swimming and looking up at that great big lodge, so romantic & beautiful.

So of course, I got thinking. Especially when Marc received a bonus from work. I thought about adding park hoppers but honestly that wasn't doing much for me. I didn't want to add anymore ADRs because I'm worried about how much I'm going to be able to eat...lately I have been eating very very little with my latest fill to my band.

Then I thought, what about upgrading our resort? I thought about it for the entire week but I don't want to give up Riverside, I'm very excited to stay there. I've been thinking about Bay Lake Tower an awful lot and with the 40% summer code, it was managable but still on the expensive side. I though about WL but we had stayed there, I wanted somewhere new. Then AKL but I thought if I was going to upgrade that I'd want to be closer to MK/Epcot. I thought about Boardwalk / Beach Club but I wasn't feeling those as much.

I tried to put the thought out of my head but that didn't work. I priced out the Contemporary itself, not bad but I wasn't convinced. Then I thought, where would Marc like to stay? Then I remembered how much he loved our night at The Polynesian. It was a great night. He still thinks the picture of us taken that night is the best one of us from our '08 trip.

I couldn't help but price it out. It was expensive but not as expensive as BLT. Should I do it?

I debated for about three days....then I DID IT. :yay:

So here's the new plan.

Arrive 9/8, stay at Riverside for 5 nights.

Switch on 9/13 to the POLYNESIAN for 2 nights.

We have the standard garden view room. I'm happy with that. You know what makes me even happier? 9/13 is the only night MSEP is showing, so it will be super easy to head over to MK for that, then 9/14 is MNSSHP and we will be right there again!

Plus there are boats! And monorails! I'm very excited. Of course I was going to try to keep this a secret from Marc. I lasted about 5 hours. I'm horrible at keeping secrets, if I'm excited I want everyone around me to be excited. I made him guess and he finally figured it out....he's VERY excited. We watched the Disney planning DVD last night to watch the Polynesian part. :yay:

I think this calls for some Polynesian pictures!

I need to know EVERYTHING you know about the Polynesian. Should we request a certain section? Should we just wing it? Be my Polynesian Yoda! :yoda:

Good for you doing a split stay! The Poly is awesome and I know you'll both love it. Think of your night swims in the Volcano Pool! :goodvibes

WOW! YAY for the Poly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana: Wish I had some info to share, but i'll be learning all about it with you! This is going to be a FABULOUS trip for you and Marc!!!!!:cloud9:

How exciting!!!! The Poly is one of my dream resorts....someday I WILL stay there! What a perfect ending to a magical vacation.

I'm so excited. Marc is excited, it's going to be awesome!

Congrats on the Poly! What a great way to end your trip. :)
It will be, I'm really loving the idea of staying there.

I never ever ever ever thought I'd be able to afford to stay at the Polynesian, even for two nights. I'm so excited. Marc has been working so hard to help pay for this trip and I am so thankful.

You're going to LOVE the Poly. It is my favorite Disney resort. I just wish they'd convert some rooms to DVC!

We've stayed there twice. The first time, we had a GV room in the Tahiti building and LOVED the location. The 2nd and 3rd floor rooms have balconies and the bathroom has two sinks. The rooms are a bit bigger in the newer buildings. Tahiti is close to the TTC and a short walk to the GCH. I'd request either Tahiti or Tokelau for GV if being super close to the GCH is not important to you. If you request one of the older buildings near the GCH, be sure to either ask for a 1st floor room with a patio or a third floor room with a balcony. 2nd floor rooms in those buildings do not have balconies.

WooHoo! I was right! I was thinking what you and Marc would like the most. (I had actually forgotten about WL! Duh!) I remembered the exact picture you posted from you 08 trip! Hee hee!!!

I'm so excited for you! The Poly has to be the best! I've never stayed there, but a friend of mine and her family have. They love it!

Enjoy!

Let me go back a few pages....my hat guess will be 33 if that is still open for bidding...:rotfl2:
Most underrated is AK....I too agree that people call it a half day park (as many do with DHS too :confused3)
Overrated....and sorry LL but the pretzel....my niece loves the cream cheese pretzel but I guess I am just a plain salt kind of girl :rotfl:
Now on to the news....I am sooooooooooooo excited for you to stay at the Poly!!! I have always wanted to stay there but I don't really think it is in the cards for me unless they make some of it into a DVC
Your trip is so close now!!!!:banana::banana:

So excited you guys are doing a split stay! I love the look of the Poly and hope to be there someday! I know nothing about buildings or requests, but I am sure it'll be romantic and wonderful!

YAY for the POLYNESIAN! I am soo jealous! you are going to have a terrific time and i love that pic of you and marc, i agree, its a really good photo! the boats and monorails and being so centrally located to the MK is really worth the extra cost! :wizard:

That is awesome information, thank you!! I have no idea if we should request or not. I don't know. :confused3

I feel like I've hyped you all up about the pretzel and it's disappointing you. :rotfl2:

I'm really excited but I'm at the point where I feel like the trip is NEVER going to get here!
