Favorite Queue in Each Park.

This one is going to be split up into 2 days. Today we'll venture to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

Hollywood Studios.

Marc - Tower of Terror

Marc is dying for me to go in the queue for ToT with him and then use the chicken exit but I'm afraid that they wouldn't let me leave and then I'd be stuck riding. Foolish...yes. But that is how my brain works!

Leslie - Great Movie Ride

It's pretty hard to beat a queue with a carousel horse from Mary Poppins! Of course I can't find my pictures of the horse...but use your imagination. ;)

Animal Kindom.

Marc - Hasn't been because his mean wife made him skip it in 2008. His words not mine.

Leslie - It's Tough To Be A Bug.

I just love everything about this, The Tree of Life and entertaining bug movie posters!

What about yours?

Tomorrow we'll visit Magic Kingdom & Epcot!

OOOH...very nice favorites!!! I love the queues at Disney!! YAY for 41 days!!

Okay my favorite queue at DHS- Definitely Toy Story Mania!! I love the feel of being a toy and many of things they have in there I used to play with when I was little!!!

Favorite Queue at Animal Kingdom- Definitely Expedition Everest!! It has a great theming and so fun to look at all the stuff and a lot of stuff it has LOL!!!!

Do you know how happy I am that they've extended the Electric Light Parade??!?! And I was all sad in June when Bubba (my sister) got to go without me. She didn't realize that it was only for the summer so she didn't take many photos/videos. She figured that I'd be seeing it when we go in October. Wellll before they announced this, I wasn't going to be able to. But now, maybe I have a chance! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

From one scaredy-cat to another  on my last trip, I was forced to walk the queue of ToT because it's really neat to see. I had no desire to ride though. It's scary because you walk into the pre-show and watch the whole thing. Then you're thinking "Oh my God. There's the elevators. Um, I want to get off. I don't want to ride! AHHHHH" But fear not, they have the chicken exit (in an elevator no less - functioning of course!) right before you'd get on the ride. Disney wouldn't make you ride something you don't want to ;)

My fav queue's in DHS are Muppet Vision 3D and The Great Movie Ride. :thumbsup2

I'm with you... chicken to use the chicken exit... :lmao: Sad but true.

On an ADR note... I've already made my guesses so am not looking to unduly influence you... but on restaurant dot com you can get $25 gift certificates for $2 at the various Swan/Dolphin restaurants including BlueZoo, Il Mulino, Shulas and Kimono's. Heard it expires soon... only one gift certificate per table, unfortunately.

My favorite at MGM (NODHS) is TOT...but VERY closely followed by the Muppets and TSM tied for second.

At AK, that's easy - EE, hands down.

DHS - Toy Story Mania. I have yet to walk through the actual queue, but even just the FP queue is pretty rockin'!

AK - EE! It's incredible! It's like you are walking through a museum!

DHS Tower of Terror :cool1: I also like to look for props/trinkets that they used in the television show ;)
AK Expedition Everest....always see something new :goodvibes

My guesses....and that is what they are....guesses

Your ADR's....Yak and Yeti, Rose and Crown, LTT, Brown Derby, Tutto

Ch..Ch..Ch...Changes (a la David Bowie :sad2:) One

Add on: Jiko

Tracy

What a neat category! :thumbsup2 Once again I can't think of anything for DHS because I'm not a big fan (although it will probably be TSM when I finally ride it). For AK, it's definitely EE!

I am so excited that you get to see the MSEP! When I read the news yesterday, I immediately thought of you! I hope you love it!!! :yay:

Favorite queues:

DHS: Toy Story Mania -- I love being surrounded by larger than life toys from my childhood. (Since I don't ride ToT, I feel like I can't choose that one.)

AK: Hmmm, this one is harder -- oh, I know -- Kali River Rapids -- their queue is so neat with all the Asian-inspired "artifacts."

Hmmmm... this is a bit harder- so many!

AK- I'd have to say, Nemo.

OK, totally just kidding! I'll bet you thought I was serious for about .4 seconds! :lmao:

For reals, I'd have to say EE, so MUCH to see in there!

DHS- I love the clips in GMR, but for overall effect, it would have to be ToT!! I LOVE the show, and LOVE the creepiness of it the queue!

I love TSM too, but I've loved the Great Movie Ride far longer so I had to pick that one.

I am super excited for MSEP! I have never seen it so I'm thrilled that I will get to see something new!

I think I might have an heart attack before I reached the chicken exit, so then I wouldn't enjoy myself. I think I much rather catch a viewing of VOTLM or a lovely snack at Starring Rolls. :rotfl2:

I'm so glad I'm not the only chicken!!

Just be careful with the restaurant dot com gift certificates, I noticed on the Blue Zoo one that you can only use it with the purchase of 2 entrees.

I guess seeing the EE queue is incentive to ride it. :rotfl2:

DHS - Toy Story Mania. I have yet to walk through the actual queue, but even just the FP queue is pretty rockin'!

TSM is very very cool. I love the candy land game and then of course my favorite as you are leaving is the giant golden book.

DHS Tower of Terror :cool1: I also like to look for props/trinkets that they used in the television show ;)
AK Expedition Everest....always see something new :goodvibes

You guesses have been noted. And now I have David Bowie stuck in my head. :lmao:

You must must must ride TSM, it's a rule for your November trip. ;)

I'm so excited about MSEP. When I told Marc he said, "Well I guess since you are so excited that it's a good thing?" Pffft. Duh!

I haven't rode Kali since 2003, I'm thinking I might have too again.

Hmmmm... this is a bit harder- so many!

AK- I'd have to say, Nemo.

Ooooh. I hadn't thought of that one! That just about ties EE for me. I love the KRR queue!
I don't remember much of KRR, so I might have to ride that again in September.

40 Days sounds so much better than 41!

Today we are continuing our favorite queues.

Magic Kingdom

Marc - Pirates of the Caribbean

IMG_0620.jpg

Of course my only picture of the POC queue would be of a light fixture. ;)

Leslie - Haunted Mansion

Between the creepy graves, to the stretching room, you can't beat the HM queue.

IMG_0580.jpg

Epcot

Marc - The Seas with Nemo

I know, I was shocked too. His explanation is that he loves those crazy "Mine! Mine! Mine! Seagulls". Can't say I blame him. Of course he made sure that I considered the Seagulls as part of the queue and I do.

IMG_0835.jpg

Leslie - Spaceship Earth

Don't laugh. I love it because it's always a super short line and I kinda like the weird mural right before you enter. And how cool and space age-y is the whole conveyer belt to get on the ride.

I'm ready for your favorites!

But first....can we discuss something?

I'm torn between two things on our trip.

Park Hopping and MNSSHP.

I know I keep saying I'm fine with not going to MNSSHP but the truth is, I want to go. I want to see the grave diggers, Hallowishes, maybe get our own Pirates boat again and I think it would be an awesome way to spend our last night in Disney. PLUS we can dress up. That excites me.

Park Hopping I want to do because it gives us great flexibility if we aren't liking a park or on our meet days we can go to another park then hop to the meet if we have too, or we can decide at 6PM that we don't want to stay at Epcot, we want to go see Fantasmic instead. The flexibility really appeals to me.

The thing is, if we do MNSSHP than we probably won't do park hopping. We can afford both but I feel like I rather spend the money on souvenirs or snacks or something else fun at Disney. I just want to make sure we'd park hop, in May 2009, I bought them and I think hopped only once, same in January. I hopped one day, that was it. Not really worth the price if you ask me.

Marc says we should just make the decision down there but I want to hear what you all think. :goodvibes

MK- I'd have to say I really enjoy the queue at Space because of the music, but for overall effect, I'd have to vote HM! Again, so creeptastic!!

EP- TT- so full of energy and some really fun HMs to find!

MNSSHP- for sure!!! There's a lot to see in the park for as long as you stay- even all day, gasp!

I LOVE SSE  I could ride that over and over again. Same with ToT. However, I cannot and will not do ITTBAB. I'm way too much of a baby for that. :rotfl2:

I'm really, really spoiled by the park hoppers, and I like them because if one park is too crowded (which I don't think you'll have to deal with) we can just go to another park. If you didn't really use it on the past two trips, I'd probably skip it and go to MNSSHP. I am personally dying to see that at some point!

You should try Kali River Rapids again -- we made sure it was our last ride before heading back to the hotel, and then we didn't care how wet we got! It worked out really well!

Favorite queues in MK and Epcot: another hmmm...

MK: Oh, I would have to say The Jungle Cruise! Can't beat all those great signs about missing explorers and menu items. LOL!

Epcot: You know -- the queues aren't really very exciting on any of the rides there -- I wonder why that is??? I think I would have to go with the Nemo one since I love all the beachy things and signs as you are walking toward the clam mobiles.

Okay, here is my take on park hopping. Every year, I consider it -- I even considered it this year, but time and time again, we never park hop. It's so nice to collect a whole bunch of Fast Passes in the morning, and then head back to the park in the evening and use them all -- no waiting -- just hopping from one ride to the next. It worked like a charm!

If given the choice between adding Park Hoppers and doing the MNSSHP, I would choose the party every time. You know you are going to want to do it as soon as you step into the Magic Kingdom and see all the Halloween decorations. Plus, can you really pass up the gravediggers with their cool dance routine and sparking shovels??? Nope, I didn't think so. :lmao:

OK, first, favorite queues:

MK: it's a tie between Jungle Cruise and Pirates

Epicot: Mission Space (even if it's NOT my favorite ride)

Now, my opinion on the Hopping and MNSSHP scenario, since we were faced with the same questions/decisions:

We're choosing NOT to get the Hoppers now. IF while we're down there we decide we need/want that option, we'll just add it. It's a simple transaction and we figure, why spend the $$ on the front end and have it "wasted" if we don't use it or only use it once. And, if we DO get it while we're down there we won't feel bad about spending the $$ because we obviously feel it's necessary.

KWIM?

MNSSHP was kind of non-negotiable for me. I love that late time in the MK with more limited crowds and all the festivity. And thankfully BF was ALL about it. Especially after I told him about the parade and the Headless Horseman.

If I were going to pick ONE to buy ahead of time and commit to, it would be MNSSHP.

:flower3:

We normally have annual passes, so hopping is not a problem, but I have been on trips with a friend where we just did one park a day so that she wouldn't have to pay for hoppers. It was no problem at all, and it sounds like from your prior trips, you're fine without hopping, too. I think from what I know of you here on the boards, you would be happier Halloween partying than park hopping.

MK - I think that would have to be the Jungle Cruise. I like BTMRR too though. After Fantasyland is done, the Dumbo queue sounds like it's gonna rock!

Epcot - Test Track! I'm not a huge fan of cars in general, but I love all the details in there. And Henry really enjoys the exit area with all the cars you can climb in.

I vote for MNSSHP. In your past you haven't been big on hopping, so that will probably hold true for this trip as well. Plus the crowds are LOW in September, I think the highest crowd day according to the Unofficial Guide was a 6. Most of the days are a 2 or 3. :thumbsup2 And that is exactly how it was for us last September, ZERO lines!!

MNSSHP for sure! I think that will be such a memorable experience. I think you will enjoy it more than park hopping.
