It is a bummer that we won't be there at the same time anymore. :guilty:

I'm looking forward to some special treatment!

So I've decided to change to September 1 - 8.

I'll be in Disney for my 28th Birthday.

Woo Hoo!

I'm sorry that you had to change your trip dates but its all for the best! :thumbsup2 and guess what? I will most likely be down there the same time! DH and I are going to book for those same dates! We want to go down for our 1st anniversary on the 5th. Maybe we can do a DIS meet! :goodvibes

How is your class going?

Hey LL, just found this PTR! :wave2:

Bummer about the change in dates, not only would we have been in the World at the same time but we, literally, would've been in the same place at the same time as we both had 12:00 Yak and Yeti ressies on the same day!

Great minds and all that. ;)

Congrats on school and all the weight loss. Celebrating your birthday in the World is great! TK and I got lots of birthday wishes. ::yes::

Can't wait for the next update. Stop by the PTR and say hi! It's been forever since I've had one and I loved having all of your comments/suggestions on the last one (Sept. 08...:scared1: ). The link is in my siggie (How is a Disney Trip Like a Writing Desk?).

TTYS!

:flower3:

Well, it just wouldn't be right without a bunch of changes! Lucky for you this worked out so well. I wish I could celebrate my birthday at WDW, but it's late August (the date of your surgery actually) and it's always right before school starts. Plus it's so blasted hot, I don't know that I'd really like it!
I hope they spoil you!!

That's great that you will be there on your birthday & you could get all your reservations back. Your countdown cards are awesome!!!

 for celebrating your birthday at Disney!! I sure hope you are able to get POR and the section you want too. :goodvibes

I hope school is going well!

Woo Hoo!! How cool is that? I can't believe you 1st anniversary is almost here. Time flies!

Hi Tink! It's good to see you around. I didn't realize that you had a PTR so I will get over there ASAP and check it out. :goodvibes

How funny that we had ADRs at the same time! What a bummer that I had to change the dates. :guilty:

The heat was super bad when we went in 2008. I think we were gone the August 28th through September 5th or something like that. I can't remember now. When I went in July in 2005 the heat was much, much worse.
That's great that you will be there on your birthday & you could get all your reservations back. Your countdown cards are awesome!!!
Thank you! I have to fix the countdown to reflect the right days now but I haven't had time yet. Yikes!

I will beg and plead if I have too with a foot stomping thrown in for good measure. ;) :rotfl:

School was much better last night, I'm just EXHAUSTED.

So the school situation has been worked out. I have my schedule all the way into October.

Do you know what that means?

Yep.

We have to move our Disney trip.

I have a final on 9/16 and then the next week when we would have be gone is the start of a new class. I don't want to miss the start of a class or the Saturday double session of that week.

I priced out trips going into October and they were too expensive.

I tried to make it work for the week after but that just didn't work either.

So I've decided to change to September 1 - 8.

I'll be in Disney for my 28th Birthday.

Woo Hoo!

We went that week in 2008 and the crowds did not bother us.

I was able to get all of our reservations that we had before (still have to cancel the old ones...UGH) so I'm happy about that. I'm still working out all of the details of the new itinerary.

I priced out Free Dining vs. Room Only Discount today. I think for us it makes sense to do the Room Only Discount. I like having the flexibility to eat appetizers instead of entrees if we feel like it. Or splitting entrees even. I like that the last two trips with Jen, I've been able to order whatever I want. Money wise it comes out about evenly with Free Dining give or take $100 or so dollars in favor of room only. I'm happy with that. Plus we don't have the pressure of that 45 day payment deadline, I hate that thing.

I'm going to book the room only on Friday, so let's all cross our fingers that Riverside will be available and I don't have to have a Disney breakdown on the phone. I'm very excited to finally answer "We're Celebrating my Birthday" when they ask me what we are celebrating. I always feel like I'm disappointing the CM when I tell them we aren't celebrating anything.

112 days until Disney! Whew, this countdown is flying by. ;) :rotfl2:

Oh no! SOOOO sad we wont be there together now!!!! :guilty: But so glad you get to still go!!!

Need to go back and read the rest...just caught that part and needed to write......sniff, sniff!:sad1:

I know. I was very sad when I realized I wouldn't be able to meet up with you. I was really looking forward to it. :guilty:

We went on my Birthday in 2006 and it was a blast. I loved having the Birthday button and got a special card, dessert, and gathering with the characters at Liberty Tree!! We stayed in MK 14 hours on my actual Birthday :cloud9: My DH still swears to this day I was trying to kill them!!:confused3

Pffft! Trying to kill them??!! More like having the best day ever! :rotfl:

Oh goody. :upsidedowI should have added that I am going at the end of July this year. I'm preparing for the worst. It definitely would not have been my choice to go then, but that's how it worked out with family and getting the beach condo for basically free. We just HAD to add on WDW time! I'm ready for the pool and the A/C attractions!!

Whoops. Should have kept my big mouth shut. :rolleyes1

This is going to be a venting post.

With all the weight I have lost and continue to lose, I'm slowly developing a more optimistic attidude and trying not to sweat the small stuff.

This week is trying ALL of my patience.

Let's do this is in true LL form, a list but of course.

#1. I started school this week for the first time in 8 years. I'm adjusting to attending school and going straight from work to school two nights a week. I'm a teeny bit overwhelmed with the accelerated classes. I knew they were accelerated going into this but still, it's scary. Especially after so long, I'm slowly getting into the swing of things.

#2. My company is having a walking challenge which started this week. I'm team captain on my team. So I've been busy walking every spare second and working out because all activity counts towards this challenge. I've been busting my butt. Good news, my team is currently in 3rd place out of more than 50 teams. Go Team!

1 + 2 = #3. Which is a very tired, somewhat cranky Leslie who wants it to be 4:30PM more than you can imagine. It took every ounce of willpower to come into work today. I know, I know, I have 14 months of this but it's the first week so I reserve the right to be a little whiney.

#4. To comfort myself and make my afternoon a little brighter, I decided to look over my Disney itinerary and make some changes. I wasn't happy with how I was spending my actual Birthday at Hollywood Studios. Don't get me wrong, I love Hollywood Studios but there is something about spending my Birthday at Magic Kingdom that just gives me the warm fuzzies! :cloud9: So I did some moving around, I'm trying to follow Tour Guide Mike's suggestions for the least crowded parks this trip so I was happy when I was able to complete the switcharoo and keep to TGM's suggestions.

All of this mumbo jumbo leads us too....

#5. I happily jump onto Disney Dining online and switch the two more important Dining reservations before my lunch break. Narcoossee's and Brown Derby were switched and I was a happy camper. I checked them out and received the email. I get nervous and like to get those dining reservations all locked up! Then I try for a Mama Melrose's ADR (this is new, more details coming soon) and Liberty Tree Tavern lunch. For FORTY FIVE minutes I have been battling the online dining system. Arrrrrrrrrrrgh. It let's me see the times of both but then when I go to add them to my cart the system craps out. I've had to walk away from it. I have zero patience for stupid malfunctions. A tired Leslie is a cranky Leslie.

#6. I'm trying to maintain my zen outlook but repeating to myself, "The ADRs will be there later, if they are meant to be they will happen."

#7. It's not working so well. :rolleyes1

#8. I know this is childish and there are so many other things to worry about in life but I'm cranky. So please pardon my whiney, indulgent post.

Where is my inner Raffiki when I need him?

You are entitled to be whiney and/or cranky.
When I read the first part of your post, I thought, UhOh, what happened to her trip? I'm glad you still have most of it taken care of. Those ADRs will fall into place. It will be fine. It was a good idea to walk away from the computer.
Way to go on the walking challenge! Do you have to use a pedometer or is it minutes?

Now, take a deep breath. Look how far you've come - - Look Haaarder! (How's that for Rafiki?)

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
It's almost the end of the work week!!!

Going back to school is always an adjustment. Even when school starts up again in the Fall for me I am so tired every day for at least the first two weeks. I try to be very easy on myself during that time. Hang in there! It will get better! Think Disney thoughts!!

Awww BIG HUGS!!! Thank goodness it's now the weekend! You can go home relax and call Disney dining or try online again and you will get your ADRs, no doubt about it!

Yes you have been very busy and the first week of school is a huge adjustment, so you are allowed to be TIRED, I know I would be!!

Awwwww Leslie....sorry you are having a trying day :hug::hug: Or week for that matter  You have a lot going on right now and it will work itself out...a lot of new stuff at once :headache:
On a lighter note...;) wow!!!! Do I love your countdown for Marc!!!! What an awesome idea!!! I love it.......I have a Disney desk calendar on my work desk and instead of recycling the tear offs everyday perhaps I will keep them for my own future countdown ;) My niece loves making them :goodvibes When she is going, that is :rotfl2:
I think you should do the room only....when I was in Disney last week my friend that was with me is the one with the lapband and she definitely ate on a much smaller scale than me....especially there. The upside for me is that I got to finish all of her food...she ate a lot of fish..scallops...has problems with chicken, steak and pork :confused3
I think it is so wonderful you will be there for your birthday!!! I thought about going for mine but I will be hiding under a rock. Far, far away :rotfl2:

p.s. love your new book bag ;)

Tracy
