Related to anyone famous?

I was always told I was a descendant of Ulysses Grant. Not sure if that's accurate or family lore. :confused3

I'm related to one of the Civil War generals too, I can't remember which one...it is on the Southern side of the family and was one of the Northern generals so they don't talk about it much...;)

Not related to anyone famous.

But my mom and dad were hippies in SF in the 60s and got to know many people! I visited Paul Kantner's home when I was little and played with his daughter...she had one of those ride-on inchworm/caterpillar things and I thought it was so cool. Re-met her backstage at a concert as a teen, a few years before she became a VJ...we were backstage b/c of my mom's friendship with Paul.

Mom met Jimi Hendrix.

Mom and dad were at a party when the hosts got a call that Paul McCartney was on his way. Sadly, instead of staying, my dad made them leave, and they didn't meet him. Dad says that night changed everything in their relationship, and if he could go back to change it, he would.

They knew some of the guys that later became the Grateful Dead...my mom enjoyed their music at the time, but said that the only way you can really enjoy a 20 minute long guitar solo is if you're smokin' something interesting...otherwise, forget about it. I agree, and it was really annoying that I had "latter day" deadheads as my next door neighbors in college! That's been done, dudes, get over it.

Mom had a long involved story about how my dad handed over keys, after being specifically told NOT to do so, to Neal Cassady, who was known for destroying cars. End of the story, yep, car was found, in a ditch, destroyed. Silly dad.

Went to college with the son of a very famous (now dead) actor/producer guy and became good friends with him (the son). He has the most amazing people on his FB page, and they are actually friends, since they all grew up together in the weird world of having a famous parent or two.

Elizabeth Taylor is something like my 3rd cousin.

And I'm not related to him, but there was a teacher at my high school whose uncle assassinated President McKinley.

mine's more infamous than famous. I'm related to Clyde Barrow of Bonnie & Clyde.

My great great great uncle (maybe more or less than that) is Sir Frederick Banting, the person who discovered insulin.

My husband's great-great-great uncle died at the Alamo. One of my ancestors fought there too, one the other side! Ooops. ;)

Kind of sort of. My brother's gf of three years (they live together) is a cousin of Jamie Kennedy. Not the most famous of people but she did get to meet Jennifer Love Hewitt!

Morten Harket (a-ha) is my first cousin. His mother and my mother are sisters.

I was told that I am a descendant of Sir Francis Drake (the pirate). My mother's maiden name is Drake.

Not related to, but graduated from high school with Daniel Dae Kim from Lost. I was never able to get into that show, unfortunately, but it is kind of cool that I knew him in high school.

Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) also went to my high school, but graduated a few years after me.

My husband played opposite Daniel Roebuck (Matlock and various other movies/tv shows) in a high school musical. My husband was a freshman and Dan was a senior.

I've been told all my life that we are descendants of Billy The Kid..but I don;t really know for sure..

Our family is apparently related, through my mom's side, to Kit Carson. He was an American Frontiersman during the exploration of the west.

My great-great-great-great aunt was Annie Oakley. And here I am, terrified of guns!
