Rejected Offers Thread

Just wanted to say how helpful this thread is! It provides a different perspective from the accepted offers thread and together I think they give a better sense of where the market is. Thank you!
I echo this sentiment! I was just trying to figure out what the market looks like and found this thread. @Sandisw thank you so much! So, so, so helpful.

SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 210 pts., offered $75 pp, listed $98 pp, 9/29, no counter
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 150 pts., offered $80 pp, listed $107 pp, 11/2, counter @ 97
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 150 pts., offered $80 pp, listed $107 pp, 11/2, counter @ $97
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 200 pts., offered $80 pp, listed $108 pp, 11/3, counter @ $110

My offers were based on whether there were banked points or not or how stripped.

Is that a typo or did a seller actually counter back with an offer that is $2 ($110 compared to $108) higher than the listing price?

No typo! It's true and I've got the e-mails to prove it. I guess the seller thought my offer was unreasonable.
They did that with a straight face? That takes some gumption. I don't think $80 is unreasonable there. They clearly want more, and that's their right. But, the market definitely seems to be lower than $108 for a contract like that. Jeez.

What total insanity! I hope that seller is excited about paying his/her 2024 dues come January, that's $1,626 that you could have been paying

So while I think countering at higher than list price is ridiculous, I actually think it’s still more reasonable than just not replying at all. They’ve told you that they aren’t getting anywhere near market prices and you’re best to move on to other options.

They are asking you to pay nearly BLT prices for SSR points, good luck with that!

😂 😂 missed the discussion above but that's actually hilarious

You have a point.

You’re bidding about $10 pp more than what I would be offering. Once those dues statements land… coupled with a possible recession sellers will have tough decisions to make.

When I got my SSR for $65pp (or whatever it was. I just know it was in the 60s) I was stunned it was accepted. I was willing to go up to $70 but that was max. And it was loaded contract.

I appreciate your opinion on my recent offers. Your $68 SSR contract was an all-time great deal. Can't imagine anyone besting it. I had been making offers in the $70s on SSR contracts since Spring with no luck and just offered $80 on a loaded contract that the calculator on dvcrofr.com says would be a pretty good deal. Fingers crossed. I'll be happy if I get it.

Recently I have seen more SSR deeds recorded for $100 or more per point than below $100.

I have to admit I am surprised

You will get it. Only a matter of time. Lots of SSR supply with decreasing demand.

Stay resilient my disboard friend!

After 33 rejections going back to March, my patience has finally paid off. All my offers were $80 pp or below. Initially, I targeted stripped contracts and as many on here informed me, sellers of stripped contracts were just not receptive to low offers as they valued their contracts more than I did. So I switched my focus to loaded contracts and finally one seller and I saw eye to eye. Now hopefully Disney doesn't take it.
