Reintroduction!!

I almost forgot about Black Friday. If I could get myself up and over Target and the mall by SUNRISE, I might nab a good place on line to actually get inside the building.

I went last year. Got to Target at 9:30am. I walked right in and did my shopping. They had DVD players for $29.99. It was insane. There are a few gifts that I do need to get, and Black Friday might be a very good idea to save a little money (if you can stand the crowds and the pushing and the shoving!)

There are a few things I want to get this year, already seen the ads. :thumbsup2 The Target near my sisters still had most of the good stuff left at mid-day the two years we have gone there. She lives in VA and we try to switch every year between there and here. It is a VA year this year.

She got a Wii as a "family" gift and I have to try and find the High School Musical sing-a-long game. :scared:

evening. joe the dressing was delicious, even had left overs.

I am too darn little to try and shop during that madness. The women around here are way too aggressive on Black Friday. A person can get hurt trying to shop. I hate to shop on a day when there aren't any crowds I definately don't want to shop on the busiest day of the year. NO SIR REE BOB!

My best country concert ever was probably years ago when we went to see Garth Brooks out on Long Island. That was a great show.

How funny, Joe. (I'm Sherri of "Sherri and Phil from Kansas City" who came to NYC in June 2006. You and Rick were the BEST tour guides ever!) Anyway, I was just talking about you the other night when I went to the Garth Brooks concert. We met friends for drinks before the concert, and I was telling them how I never liked country music at all until you gave Phil those Brad Paisley CD's. When I had a chance to go see Garth, I figured I'd give it a try since you were right about Brad Paisley. I must say I still like Brad Paisley better than Garth, but Garth put on a great show.

Great to "see" you here on the DIS. How's teaching??

Wow, this thread is still around? Rick's panties must be all bunched up by now!!

Don't you mean boxers?? It would be awful if Rick took the dog for a walk just wearing "panties." :scared1:

Hi Rick! Love ya!

Hi Sherri! It's great to see you on here too. I am so incredibly jealous that you went to see Garth. Yes, Brad is great in concert, but I still hold the memory of my only Garth concert as absolutely amazing. I would love to go see him again. I am beyond jealous.

Teaching is great. I love it. I'm so thrilled that I made the switch and now I'm in my third school year. It's great. Best thing I ever did for myself! How about you? How's the library? Tell Phil I said hi.

Hey...it's going to be impossible to get to 100 pages if I had to wait until I got to PAGE 11 to find this thread. LOL.

Anyway...I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to a 2 and half day work week this week. Monday-full day. Tuesday-half day (parent/teacher conferences). Wednesday-full day. Then off THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY!

Anyone else getting a nice break like that? Are you going to have to do some traveling or are you staying home for the holiday?

What are everyone's Thanksgiving plans?

We have off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, plus there's not much going on in the library Monday and Tuesday. My youngest has preschool on Wednesday, so I'm going to take my oldest (Joey- child of many broken arms) on a little adventure Wednesday morning. Thursday is in-law stuff. Friday, I'm trying to get tickets for the family to see the stage version of Harry Connick's Happy Elf. Saturday, Phil works Missouri-Kansas football game, and Sunday he's works at the Chiefs game.

Wow, you guys have a packed week! It'll be nice to have a short week and the days off. But sometimes, that means it's all the more difficult when you get back. The kids don't want to be there before a holiday and they don't want to come back after, so it's a whole period of days that require the kids to become readjusted. At 13 years old, they are just not as reliable about coming in and being ready to work as we would like them to be. :rotfl:

Oh, for whoever is interested...

Last night I was standing outside of a restaurant in Manhattan talking to a friend when all of a sudden, coming up the street is a very familiar looking man. I look over my friend's shoulder as he approaches and I'm thinking, "I know him...." But then, as he passes, I realize I don't know him, I just know his face.

It was Josh Lucas, walking past me close enough to nearly rub shoulders.
My friend missed him because I didn't say anything until he had passed.

:faint: You are NEVER to go to the city without me ever again:snooty:

They don't do much better at 15 & 16, but I know the teachers really need a break! Enjoy your time off and say "hey" to Rick for me. I know he is super busy this time of year.

You and Rick should have your own blog. (Or should that be "Rick and you" :confused3 I'm on vacation.) Anyway, you two have quite the following here on the DIS.

Sherri,
Don't you know that I'm just riding Rick's coattails here? I just wanted to be in on all the fun!

Have a great Thanksgiving. (I'm on vacation, too, so I won't even address the "Rick and you" "You and Rick" question. )

Joe, glad to see a post from you. I heard a news blurb during "Criminal Minds" about an explosion in Queens. I got askeered.

Today? I didn't hear a thing about it. But Queens is the biggest borough. Are you all set for tomorrow???
