We are planning a Disney wedding for July 9th, 2005. We are discussing possible locations for the rehearsal dinner (it will be for a group of 25). We are thinking about the Mad Hatter's Tea Party or a character dinner. Has anyone done something like this for the rehearsal dinner? Any comments and/or suggestions would be wonderful.

We didn't do a rehearsal, but had a dinner out the night of our wedding. We went to O'hana's. It was a lot of fun. I suggest you choose something fun and lighthearted. Whatever you choose will be a blast!

I dont know what your budget is, but the mad hatter's tea party can run you upwards of $10,000. A character meal will work nicely for your size group, but they will tell you that inorder to sit you all together you would have to be either their first or last PS for that day. Just something to be aware of. I think a character meal would be a great rehearsal dinner, and an easy way to get pictures of you and your husband to be with the characters :)

We had no idea that the Mad Hatter's tea party was that expensive. Thanks for the information.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Ohana at the Polynesian - it worked out really well. If you are lucky your EM will make the prority seating arrangements for you - but they don't have to do it (our's made us make the ressie's!) If you end up having to make the reservations for priority seating on your own, call in on the exact day that they begin taking prority seating requests, because you will be limited to certain times (and you will also have to go through group dining reservations, so I'd call ahead and get the appropriate phone numbers). We were limited at Ohana to the first or the last dinner seating for a group of about 15 adults. I think that Ohana or one of the other resort locations is great for a rehearsal dinner - you could also try for Chef Mickey's if you're interested in a character dinner. I'd stick to a resort location, because if you choose an in-park location, you assume that your guests will have a ticket for admission (some of our guests didn't go to the disney parks at all!) You may want to have a couple of restaurants in mind, just in case your first choice doesn't work out.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Bongo's and our wedding dinner at 1900 Fares, both were fun and had good food.
