Rehearsal Dinner Opinions

I want something fun, that really is my only requirement other than being able to host 50 people. I like the Hoop-dee-doo the most but if I can't drive there I don't want to do it. I live in Orlando and a lot if my guests are floridians and will be driving and not staying in disney resorts or have no knowledge or experience with the theme park transportation (neither do I). I know you don't have to stay on property to use the ferry, but I really can't trust everyone to find their way and be on time without stressing out. Is it possible to drive?

Another option has been Ohanas, but can't figure out if the can do a party for 50. Everything I've read has been 40 people or less.

Opinions on Poly Luau show? Can't remember the name now but I read so not so great reviews and they don't do the sangria like Hoop-dee-doo.

We did Biergarten for our wedding party/family dinner the night before our wedding. Less people in our party than you, but it was a blast!!!

There is parking at Fort Wilderness for the Hoop De Doo. It can be tricky navigating WDW roads especially back there. Sometimes GPS doesn't have all the WDW roads on it, and the roads are really dark at night, but there are sings once you reach the resort. There are two parking lots from what I remember, but even if you go to the wrong parking lot, the security guard will most likely tell you to drive over to the next lot down the road when you tell him/her you're there for the show.

I am looking for a place too for my sons rehearsal dinner ..not sure about the number of people ...between 30-50. It is in May....

We're going to have around 20 and I'm looking at Big River Grille for our group. Since they don't take ADRs you can work directly with the manager. Alternatively I'd look at a buffet or dinner show with a fixed, known price for a big group - especially one of the ones outside of the parks so your guests won't need park admission.

Could be. I'm not sure if lots are specific to vehicles. I thought I remembered being directed once to the other lot when I went to the main lot, but I could be remembering wrong (maybe I went to the other lot and was directed to the main lot). Either way, there is parking at the resort (mind you, I don't know how crowded/full it will be). If you do have to park in the main lot, then you'll probably be directed to use the buses that run inside the resort grounds to get to the revue, so make sure to give yourself and guests enough time to get there, park, take the bus, walk, and be seated. It's a super fun show!

The parking lot that would be used for HDDR guests is near the main entrance/checkin building. From there you need to take an internal Fort Wilderness bus to get to Pioneer Hall for the HDDR. There is no parking for cars near the Settlement Outpost or Pioneer Hall.

Instead of a typical rehearsal dinner we are doing dinner at a quick-stop place then as a group all going to Cirque de Soleil together, if you have a group over 16 you get a good group rate!

WOW that really is a great idea! Right up my alley. The only thing I concerned about is if all the kids could sit through it.
