We're trying to figure out where we want to have the rehearsal dinner.

We are probably going to have a lot of people there (around 60)

I love Ohana and I think family style would be the easiest and it's sooo good, but the problem is that it seems really loud in there. I'm afraid if someone wants to give a speech it's going to be a struggle.

What other options are there? Where did yall have yours??!?!?

I have seen some brides do their rehearsal dinner at Jiko in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I think you can get your own private room for a group that size too. :goodvibes

I would suggest places like California Grill, or Jiko, but I think the maximum group size for them is 50 people for CG and 40 people for Jiko.

You can do a restaurant buy-out for something like Citricos, but there are high minimum expenditures for that.

You could also do a Rehearsal Dessert Party. :)

OH yeah I did see some girls that did a rehearsal dessert party and it was a great way to start off the wedding celebration!

If your group is that large, you could possibly do the living seas or Ariels and do a private event I think

I've been struggling with the same problem. I think we've finally decided on Fulton's Crab House. Their menu options aren't as expensive as I thought and they have 3 different private rooms to accommodate different party sizes. I have all their information in a pdf file if you want to private message me your email I will be happy to send it to you!

We thought about California Grill too.. but it's VERY expensive. I guess it all depends on your budget...

We used Fulton's and loved it. They had private dining room where we weren't with the public and it was really nice! I am not sure what the costs are, as the in-laws planned that event.

I had a different experience with Fulton's I called to check them out but they had some very high minimums in place for the private rooms and the sizes for the rooms were so large. I think they must have got confused because I think I may have recieved the wedding reception info instead and not any smaller group dining info.

A guy named Eric emailed me, the person responsible for events was out of the office, maybe that's why?:confused3

This is the email I got when I inquired last summer:

I am pleased to present to you The Private Dining Rooms of Fulton’s as a unique location for private dining events for 20 or more guests.

Fulton’s Crab House is located at DOWNTOWN DISNEY, Walt Disney World® Resort. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional, creative cuisine and professional, attentive service in a comfortable atmosphere.
Fulton’s Crab House features the freshest seafood menu, with non-seafood items available. Located near Pleasure Island, The Private Dining Rooms of Fulton’s are on the Third Deck and can be used for meetings, breakfast, lunch and corporate dinner events. With a panoramic view of Lake Buena Vista, it is also a beautiful place for wedding rehearsals, dinners, and receptions.

There is a Food & Beverage Minimum Purchase of $2500.00 to $4000.00, plus tax and service charge, in the private rooms. The Lounge seats up to 40 guests, and the Bow seats up to 80 guests. We ask for a $300.00 non-refundable deposit should you be interested in holding the space until details of the event are finalized. The sales tax is 6.5% and the service charge is 20%.
Please see the attached for event menus, credit card guarantee form, and photos.

We're also trying to figure out where to have a rehearsal dinner. We thought the Rainforest Cafe would be neat but it does get loud and I wasn't all that impressed with the menu for larger groups (served family style)...I think it was on a thread around here somewhere.

I definitely don't want to go having something at California Grill with minimums, etc. We'll be having about 30 ppl for the rehearsal dinner.

Whats the easiest way to get the price fixed menus or menus for larger groups?

Yes, that's what I recieved as well. I thought they were very high minimums considering I was comparing it to Ohana's which will cost me about $500 bucks for my rehearsal dinner. But I am only having 18 people at my rehearsal dinner, and 5 of them under 5

Not sure if they still do it, but we had ours at Boatwrights at POR. We wanted something not as fancy as the Wedding dinner and that was where most of our guests were staying. They have a few dining room areas, we were given one up away from where they were seating everyone else.

We're hosting ours at The Summerhouse at the Grand Floridian. If you speak with your planner there are several options for this. Of course, you'll have to choose another dinner buffet, but ours came out reasonable at $37 per person...a small price to pay to not be in a noisy restaurant and have some mingle space. :)

Emily- Ohana is wonderful in so many ways.... BUT... if you want the availability for speeches, etc. you may want to look elsewhere. It is pretty loud in there!! Good luck!
