Where can I find a reliable schedule of attraction rehabs?
We are planning for January, but I am not going if Space or Splash are closed.
Is January too far out to know?

January is a bit too far out, though Splash is often down in the cooler months for refurb. There's a good chance it will go down by the end of January.

While the various fan sites have their rehabs/refurb schedules
(including the very site on which we are now posting, wdwinfo.com as posted above)
rehabs/refurbs are the LEAST likely events to have advance notice.
There is not a strict "posted X weeks in advance" kind of schedule.
There have been times in the past when major refurbs of attractions were simply not announced
in advance, or were only announced a couple of weeks before a major closure.
Expect more attractions to be down in the slower winter months, but
you just never know.
Expect Splash to be closed through at least part of January.
It is about the most consistent of closures.
(But even that one can vary.)
The rehab lists I just googled didn't have anything for January listed. I think it's too early to know. Splash is usually closed from January 3 thru [whenever]. The length of down time varies yearly by maintenance needs.

We've been to WDW in January many times, and Splash is almost always closed. One of the water parks, either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach is usually closed, too. There are usually several rides closed as well as resort pools closed for rehabs. On top of that, park hours are usually short, too. But we still like to go there in January because it is a lot warmer in Florida than in the Midwest at that time of year. And the room rates are low, too.
The very beginning of Jan should be ok. There's still quite a crowd there from Christmas week - Disney usually waits till the crowd level drops to do routine maintenance.
