I just visited the IOACentral website and noticed that Pteranodon Flyers is closed. Do you know how long they will be refurbishing that ride??? Also, I know that DM said Dudley would be closed during our visit (Presidents' Day) -- when will it reopen?? Anything else going to be closed when we're down there??

Thanks for the information,
Sarah

I don't think that the Flyers are down because of refurbishment. They just close down when the crowds are really, really low like right now. I would assume that once the crowds pick up, it will open.

The funny thing is that the major criticism that I have read about the Flyers is the slow loading and therefore long lines that the rides produces other than first thing in the morning when demand is low. So what does Universal do? They close the rides when crowds are real low, a time that the people who are there could go on the ride without much wait even in the middle of the day.

I was thinking the exact same thing Tigger&Belle. It just doesn't make any sense. My kids were so excited about the possibility of riding it a few weeks ago since they were not willing to wait in the long long line last August. But it was closed. Maybe in May?

When we walked by on Tuesday, we thought exactly the same thing. What difference would it make since there would still be someone riding it continuously? They could even, gasp, let adults without children ride.

I've heard exactly the same thing about the slow-loading situation with this ride... What a shame that it's not open when it's slower at the parks.

So, do you experts out there think it will be open for Presidents' Day weekend since the crowds should be bigger by then?? Just wondering, as I have a 5-year-old who will probably be scared of just about every other thrill-type ride and this one sounded like it could work for him...

Thanks again for the help,
Sarah
