Regular vs Deluxe

We are thinking about upgrading from the reg meal plan to deluxe so we do not have to worry about coming out of pocket for any meals. We are traveling with 4yr old and 18month old. Any thoughts?

Though I personally prefer the DxDP, it is not automatically a good value if simply trying to avoid OOP expenses. If you wanted a ton of extra TS meals and signature restaurants, then it's a good value. But if you are simply worried about breakfast and a handful of extra snacks -- you are only talking about $50-$100 in OOP expenses.

The 18 month old is not covered by either plan. But at buffets, the 18 month old can get their own plate. Buffets are a good use of regular ddp credits, but so-so with deluxe.

We prefer the deluxe, because we don't really eat any CS meals, and we eat at a signature restaurant almost every night. Thus, it's not about getting a greater quantity of food, it's more a quality upgrade.

We just upgraded to DxDP because we didn't want to worry about paying for anything OOP. We like breakfasts, nice sit-down dinners with apps and lots of snacks, so it was worth it for us. Upgrading to the DxDP only cost us $436 for the 4 of us (3 adults, 1 child). Plus, we all get refillable mugs, which we would have bought anyway. Now, with the DxDP, we are now able to enjoy more of the fun character meals and shows and really nice restaurants that we probably wouldn't have gotten to enjoy otherwise. So, basically, ALL our food will only cost us $436. We felt it was a great deal.:woohoo:

We are doing a dinner show and cinderellas table so we are already down 4 of 5 TS on reg plan so we are most likely upgrading.

Exactly! I got Cinderellas Royal Table for DD's birthday! That alone would have eaten up 2 of our 4 TS credits on the regular DDP. We were also able to get Le Cellier - another 2 credits! If we had stayed on the regular DDP, we would have had to pay OOP for pretty much the rest of our stay.
