Regular Dining Plan vs. Deluxe Dining Question

If you have any interest in the signature restaurants, or any of the dinner shows or CRT, the deluxe dining plan works out great.

More days than not our dinner is a 2 credit meal, so the Deluxe Dining Plan is certainly not too much food for us.

On the other hand, the regular plan giving only 1 CS and 1 TS leaves me 1 meal short each day. So add me to the list of people who feel that this is not enough food. In fact, most people I know eat 3 meals a day, especially on vacation.

I currently have the normal, run of the mill dining plan for our trip in December. I am considering upgrading to the Deluxe Plan. It's my understanding that free dining will not be happening in December, but this is a peak time.

If I were to do so is there any reason to believe that I would receive some kind of preferential treatment when I make my ADR's?

Make sure you crunch the numbers. Look at menus and get an idea of the cost of what you are ordering. Don't forget Tip is OOP. I was just crunching the numbers and found that the dining plan was break even for us at best. Disney has really destroyed the value of the DDP.
