We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children going to disney in 2013. I always thought that table service meals take more time away from the park but I am thinking TS could be quicker than QS because TS you have a reservation and get seated, but QS there is long lines to order and takes time to find a place to sit. We are thinking of doing 1 signature restaurant, and 2 table service meals a day with 1 buffet and 1 regular TS meal. But this will probably be our last time to DW for 5 years. Can you give me an idea of which one to get? Let me know what you would think?

The Deluxe Dining plan can be good if you are going to eat all sit down meals. However, it can take a lot of time away from park time.

Disney's reservation system isn't like a traditional restaurant reservations. You are not seated at that time. You are guaranteed the next available table. Depending on how busy the parks are when you visit the waits can be pretty long sometimes.

The waits at the QS restaurants aren't that bad. As long as you eat at off times, before or after traditional lunch hours.

We are doing the Deluxe plan simply because, for our family it works the best.

If you do the regular dining plan, you will only have one meal that you need to make an ADR for each day.

If you choose the Deluxe Dining Plan, I recommend that you use 1 TS for breakfast or lunch and then eat at a signature restaurant which will use up 2 TS meals. That way you maximize the amount of time you have in the parks. Make your dinner reservation for whenever you would normally eat at home. The only restaurant where I have had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seated with my ADR is the Brown Derby.

That is exactly what I was thinking to do. 2 meals a day. Or maybe one day eat a quick service breakfast before park opens.
