Registering for Classes: A Question for anyone who might know :)

My son registered for his Fall classes tonight. He signed up for Marketing You, Entertainment, and Distance Learning(he will be taking 6 hours online, but fear not...Intro to Lit, and Rock History) He is waitlisted for Entertainment and Distance Learning. I am assuming to verify with his university that he is indeed a Theatre major, and that he is enrolled for Fall.

My question: Is the distance learning considered one of his two classes, or is it separate from the others?

The distance learning, as far as I know, isn't considered an educational offering. It's a section of time allotted each week for those doing online courses at their home university, to allow them to study or do homework or actually complete their online classes. Kind of like a study hall. I guess it's to help kids with time management.

Unfortunately, he will have to choose to have either the two classes or one class and the distance learning. This is from the registration site,

"By registering for a Distance Learning time block, the Education Office can adjust your work schedule to allow for specific, consistent study/coursework time. We can block a maximum of two time periods from your work schedule. This includes Collegiate Offerings, Disney Exploration Series, Professional Development Studies, and Distance Learning."

I'm sorry that this is the case; but, I didn't want you having the wrong idea about the class situation.

Thanks Dako...I think he would benefit most from Marketing Me...But think he will enjoy more the entertainment class since he is a theatre major. Also think, knowing him, he really needs to do the Distance Learning one.
