So, we are have a 2 br lock-off, ocean view reserved. We really want the same view we had two years ago. I called and made a request with any possible room that had that view but as we all know nothing is guaranteed. Has anyone found that it is better to reg earlier online and still get what you want or wait until you arrive? Last time we reg early and got out key. When I got to the room and looked outside I was so disappointed because it wasn't the view I had been dreaming about. I went down to see if they could change our room and luckily they had a room open. That time we stayed from Sat. to Sat. This time we are staying from Monday to Monday because of Father's Day at home with the rest of the family.
I am worried that arriving on a Monday will put my hopes and dreams of having the same view out the door.

I don't think it really matters which you do. When you stop at the front desk for your room keys and you find out your room number, ask them to show you on a map where you are. If that doesn't give you the view you wanted, you can ask right then.

We arrived yesterday. I tried doing online check in and the website wasn't working. I even called and they said it doesn't work most of the time. She said she couldn't check me in over the phone either since it was only online. We arrived at Aulani around 1:30pm. Only one person was ahead of me in line, even though it seemed really busy. So it was really fast. Our room wasn't ready yet then. But he still gave us our keys and said he would text when it was ready. We went to Target for groceries and as we were checking out we got the text that our room was ready. I didn't have to go back to get our keys activated either. It was so easy. And the bellman brought our groceries up with our luggage. :-)

Tried doing online check in for Aulani today, clicked on online check off the DVC "My Dashboard" page -- takes me to disneyworld.com website and brings up an upcoming AKV reservation. So that's a no go...

Have to go directly to Aulani website. Click on "Retrieve Reservation" at the top of the page after logging in.
I enter travel plan # and requested info, and get "System Unavailable." Argh. Imagine if amazon.com had "System
Unavailable." Wow.

Maybe tomorrow...
