I just opened a big box of yummy goodies from live4christp1!
The goodies are from the Apple Barn, "In the Foothills of the Great Smokies".
LOTS of goodies I can't hardly wait to try -- except the assorted taffy. I already had some. So that I COULD NOT wait to try -- literally.
DH is a breakfast lover. So I know he will be VERY happy!
The box contained:
a jar of Fried Apples
1 pint of Apple Butter
Apple Fritter mix
Apple Pancake Mix
Apple Syrup
and the large assortment of taffy

THANKS VERY MUCH! I like the brochure too. Looks like a very nice place to visit, if I ever make it that way. Reminds me of Das Essenhaus in Middlebury, IN, which to me just might come close to being the happiest place on earth. (At least at meal time. )
Last week I bought a funnel cake mix set. I bet those fried apples would be very good on a fresh funnel cake.....

Glad it made it! You are very welcome! Hope it wasn't over board on the apples. . We love the Apple Barn......we are going up Friday so I hope to be eating apple fritters and apple butter sometime Friday or Saturday. It's just not a trip to Pigeon Forge without visiting the Apple Barn. Enjoy!

P.S. - Don't tell my mom I said this because she makes really good homemade apple butter.....but the apple butter from the Apple Barn is the best I have ever tasted!

Monday was like Christmas! I found a notice over the weekend that we had a package waiting for us, but our little town's post office is closed on Sat. except to deliver mail. So, Monday morning the kids and I brought home a box filled with Virginia goodies!

We got:
-Chesapeake Bay seasoning peanuts (yummo! DH might eat 'em all!)
-golden biscuit mix (can't wait to try this!)
-strawberry/rubarb jam (never had rubarb before!)
-blackberry jam (this has got to be good!)

*Planters cashews
*Taco Bell salsa
*Kraft Jet Puffed marshmallow
*Taco Bell taco seasoning
*Kraft original barbecue sauce
*AL steak sauce


Thank you very much for the fun, and useful items. We used our steak sauce this weekend, and need to buy more . I think we will be making tacos soon, and I will try to make some bbq using the sauce that I had recieved from you, and Alex.

I've been busy getting everything together. I've had to be creative due to the 2kg maximum weight for airmail. Will have it posted asap this week and will post here when done.

Interesting, our flat rate boxes have a weight limit of 20 lbs. (about 9 kg). About 2 kilograms is our wieght limit for flat rate envelopes.

Anyway, our international one went out yesterday (due to some problems witht eh Post Office closing before I could get there on Saturday and Monday.....grr...when did the Post Offices start closing at 5:00 P.M. again?) And one to TX went out on Monday, as we could drop that one in the box.

Sorry about the delay, we were trying to get it out early even, well, I hope I packed it all well enough that it all arrives safely, I also hope I filled out the customs form properly for the international one, only my second international package, we sent some postcards internationally before, but that's way different.

For everyone else reading.... My dh works for Kraft Foods, the largest manu. in the area we live in. (Springfield MO) I wanted to send some cheese, but thought it might be a bit stinky by the time it got there!! Springfield is also the home to Cashew Chicken, but again thought it would be a long trip for that... so I sent the recipe and the cashews!

If you lived closer I could probably get you the hook-up! We aren't big mac and cheese fans. But we have it occasionally. My ds likes the individual mac and cheese cups, they are easy for him to fix! Just pour in the water and nuke it!

My Dh's plant makes mostly cheese. Sliced, chunk, cream cheese, easy cheese etc. But they also make the blue box CHEESE AND MAC!

Hey Gang, I just git a GREAT box of goodies from CMWADE77 and EVITA_W!

It contained:
Disneyland Cheese Biscuits (made with pure butter and cheese so it counts as dairy, which is good for you)
Minnie's Bake Shop Chocolate Cookies (A Family Sized box, so I can share, and since sharing is good, they must be good for me.)
Chip & Dale Mountain Mix (Which has nuts and raises, and since raisens a fruite they ballance out the chocolate buttons leaving only the healthy nuts, so it is also good form me)
Chip & Dale Tropical Tiki Mix (Which is all fruit and nuts, so it is good for me too.)
Microwave Habanero Popcorn (another healthy snack)
A bottle of Hot Licks Serrano Pepper Hot Sauce (Studies have shown that anything spicey burn calories, so I am in luck there!!!)
AND
An Edible Chocolate Image from Disneyland (Not sure how to make this healthy, but worse case scenario, I will eat something with some of the Serrano sauce on it to ballance it out.)

So thanks guys, for the amazing package of health food from Disneyland! I can't wait to start loosing some of this extra weight by chowing down.

I am glad we could help with the HEALTHY food! It is important to have a well rounded diet. Make sure to add milk to the mix. You don't want to loose any calcium....
