regarding pets...

Actually yes, I do think my pup is special. But not special enough to break rules and have a bunch of people ticked off at me...LOL!!:rolleyes1

Seriously though, we take him lots of places with us, so I only asked because he loves being with us and going "bye bye". And he does love riding in his stroller.

I was quite sincere in asking my question and did not intend to cause such a fuss.

Blessings,
Winnie

Winnie,
Well, you just feel free to come on over to see us (300 loop) since we check in at the same time. You can bring your dog WITHOUT the stroller and visit with my golden, Molly. She loves other animals and will be glad to make a new friend!

Donna!!
Guess what, we requested loop 300!! So hopefully we'll be neighbors! Our babies should love that! See you July 29TH!:cool1:

Another reason to be more excited!
Blessings,
Winnie

Again, thank you for asking!!(guess I also should have warned you that this gets to be a hot topic, right along with reckless golf carting:confused3 )

Have a great trip!

Oh no!....two crazy dogs on the loose:scared1: ...last seen in a stolen golf cart zipping around recklessly in 300 loop! a Chihuaha and a Golden! Talk about an odd couple!:rotfl2:
Too cute!;)

Hey, at least your dog likes to go places, all ours does is sleep. :confused3

Quick question, though. Can the dog be out (leashed) in your campsite area if you are out there with it? Or is it- take from RV directly to walking trail, do not pass "go"?

From what others have said on this thread, as long as you are in a "pet loop" you can walk anywhere within the loop.(on a leash)

Just don't go beyond the "forbidden sign" Just kiddin y'all!!!:hippie:

Blessings,
Winnie

Your dog can be outside with you on your site as long as he is on a lead. :) Even saw some in little doggie playpens. We didn't let ours stay outside too much though because our site was pretty narrow and the only place he could be was under the awning. Otherwise he would be in the brush or sand and I didn't want that all tracked in !! We went for nice long walks by the canal off of loop 1800.

I do have one comment as long as we are talking about dogs. I wish all pet owners would respect the leash rule and keep theirs on it. There were a couple of different people playing catch with their dogs off leash by the canal. I think it's great their dog obeys so well and doesn't run off. But in public places they should be leashed like all the other dogs.

I apologize for my heated response. As I stated in my original this hit's way too close to home today with people failing to abide by rules when it comes to their dogs. I realize that you were just asking a question and intend to follow the rules. Other people just seem to think they're above all else.

ROFL! that is so funny as i picture it. If we end up seeing each other, we'll have to post a pic! :rotfl2:

Now I know that at some point during our vacation, we are going to have to sit the dog on a golf cart, pose her with a beer and take a photo. :lmao:

I wonder if we could get her ears to flap in the breeze...

A word to the wise...if you let your dog lay on the sand near your site, please put a rug down. Do NOT let him/her lay directly on the sand! Our dog did this once and we left that night. On the way home she started scratching like mad...her whole underneath was bitten up and red. Good thing we had some dog prednisone on us and benadryl. She was really in a bad way and very uncomfortable for a week after. Still wondering if it was sand fleas or what. Never happened before that trip or after it.

We always stay in the cabins and have boarded our dog at the Fort Wildeness kennels too many times to count. We check on her first thing in the am, last thing at night and several times during the day. We only walk her around the kennel area.

My doggy is a little spoiled too :confused3

I really want one of those doggy strollers, do you use it a lot? I like the ones at PetsMart

She uses a litter box so we don't have to walk her which can be real nice when traveling in a coach!
