Has anyone stayed there or know anything about the Regal Palms. My family and I are staying in February and from the sounds of it, it will be great fun. Any information from others more familiar with the resort?
Thanks!

We booked Regal Palms 3 bedroom pool home for a week in May, please post and let us know how you liked it. Some people say it is to far from the parks, but for us that doesn't matter as we are onsite for the Disney part of vacation. The pool house week will allow us to do day trips to Daytona Beach and Cape Canaveral.

Just an update for all of those interested in the Regal Palms Resort outside Kissimmee on Rt 27 south. It was fantastic! We stayed in a 3 bedroom 3 bath townhome and it was perfectly clean, quiet and fabulous! We LOVED the pool, waterslide ( my 5 year old 45" daughter said this was her favorite part) and the lazy river was so much fun!
We had no problems at all with the staff they we very professional and helpful. There was trash pickup each day, we collected the trash and left it outside by the front door each morning and they took it away and left a new trash bag!
We had lunch twice at the clubhouse bar and grill, trying out the turkey wrap, blue cheese hamburger, turkey club, fish and chips, hot dog, and the nachos. All were good, not overly fantastic but good decent food, prices were reasonable, although my husband, while waiting for the food to be prepared so that he could bring it back to the townhome, had pint draft of Bass Ale that cost $10! No kidding! Very funny!
It took us probably 15-20 min depending on traffic to get to Disney...but the relaxed feeling of the resort along with all the fresh Florida fruit that we ate every morning was well worth the time it took us to get there every day! ( Can you tell I already miss vacation!)
With all that said we also got an amazing deal on our price per night, so I am highly recommending this place to all my friends! Wonderful! A+++

onlyoneforme, who did you book through? I am interested in a pool home there. tia :wave2:

We booked through a private owner through www.VRBO.com . The owner that we rented through does not have a private pool home, just a 3 and 4 bedroom townhouse.

onlyoneforme, glad to read your review on Regal Palms.

We have reservations for there beginning this Saturday 2/19 until 2/26. Can't wait to get there and try out that pool!! We are driving down from PA leaving Friday evening and pulling an all nighter. Hope to be there by lunch time on Saturday. We rented through a private owner on cyberrentals.com and got a screaming deal on a 4 bedroom townhome. I think the rates are really low right now because the place is so new that not that many people know about it.

We got a 3 bedroom townhome for $70 tax included, I'd love to know what kind of rate you got...if you'd like to share???? :confused3 :ssst:

Thanks for the great review! I am looking for 2 vacation homes like what you described for a big family trip. I would be interested in getting a referral to the owner of the one you rented. If you could please PM me or list it here in response (if allowed by moderator).

Thanks.

$70 is amazing when you consider the owner has to pay 12% tax and the utility bills plus a management fee you have to wonder how they can afford to do it at that price I'd like to know their secrets.

We are paying $620 for the week for a 4 bedroom townhome. We did not need one that large but it was cheaper than the 3 bedrooms we were looking at over at Windsor Palms.

I've been doing quite a bit of searching in the past couple days and haven't found any rates that low. Would you mind sharing where you found it?

We got a GREAT price for several reasons.

First the Regal Palms is fairly new and the complex of townhomes is still being built and a couple of the resort extras were not available when we visited (gym, sauna etc.) or were just finished.

Second, I believe the owner just began renting in October of 2004, so very new to renting the Regal Palms.

Third, we went on a very LOW week! We have always gotten a similar rate for all of our 3 bedroom condos we have rented each year.

Fourth, I waited until just about 30 days before our trip to book this place and I bargained. What's the worst an owner can say..."no, I can't accept any lower"...you then have a choice, either accept the offer that they gave or look elsewhere...with all the condos/homes that are for rent during the low season...someone will take some amount just to help pay their condo fees!

I do think however, those rates that I got will not be available for the Regal Palms for long...the place is great and when all is done it will be very posh and the rates will then reflect better the quality you are getting. I look at this rate as an introductory rate! ;)

Good luck, I am always exhausted after we finally close on our condo because I really put in so much effort for our money and my family and I have yet to be dissapointed!

Denisenh Sorry I wasn't paying close attention.

onlyoneforme Thanks for the details. I ended up finding availability for early April for $690+tax for the week. As much as I'd love to find a $70 rate, I think I'll take what I can get! Thanks again!

denisenh Yes, that price was for a four bedroom, three bath townhouse. We could've gotten away with a three bedroom but this guy was offering the best price. I guess we'll have an extra bedroom in case my husband is in the dog house! j/k

umaangel00 As far as I know, they only have three bedroom townhouses and larger. I believe the single family homes are even bigger than that. I could be wrong though.

Has anybody heard when the gym will be opened? I've read conflicting dates. TIA!

I read somewhere April 8th. I can't remember where I saw that? I hope it's right, because we check in there on April 9th! I'm so excited! :sunny:

Just returned from a week at Regal Palms and I have to say the place was really nice. My boys loved the pool with the slide and the lazy river. Just a word of warning though, there is still a lot of contruction going on around the club house area. This didn't bother us any but if you are looking for the place to be all finished you will be disappointed.

One thing I was disappointed in was the attitude of the check in staff. Totally unacceptable with how rude they were. Don't even think about checking in one minute before 4 PM even if your unit is clean and ready to go before then. We rented directly from the owner and he told us the unit was empty the night before, so we could check in anytime we got there. We arrived at 1:30 PM and the staff refused to allow us to check in - insisting that we had to wait until 4 pm to pick up our keys even though the unit was empty the night before. Then when 4 PM came around they had a room full of people waiting to pick up keys and they told us all the have a seat becuase it was going to be a few more minutes before they had time to hand out the keys. Unbelievable. Maybe it wouldn't have bothered me so much if I had not been so tired from the drive.

Another thing that a little disappointing was that they offered a computer lounge to check email and such but they wanted $15/hour to use it. Maybe I'm just spoiled but most places we have stayed have offered this for free.
