Thinking about another stay in August 2013. Hopefully, the DVC construction will be pretty much done by then.

Thanks. We are going August 2012. 18th to the 25th. Do you know which pool has the waterslide? Just trying to figure out the impact on our trip. Looks like only 1 day. We are staying club/concerige (spelling?), so the impact of the beach pool bar should be minimal. Any other unforseen impacts? Hope the monorail is not impacted.

I just returned from a stay at the Grand. I stayed in the main building's club level and had a balcony view of the construction. I spent 2 days at the beach pool in a cabana.

The construction is barely noticeable. The rock slide blocks the view of a lot of the new construction on the DVC building and if there was noise, the waterfall must have blocked it.

I did occasionally hear some construction noise in the building right next to the pool where there is remodeling going on. It was not constant, maybe noticed it twice within the day (I was at the pool from 10 am to 7 pm on both days).

I was nervous about it ruining my stay but I enjoyed the resort as much as I have on previous vacations there.

Not for me (just came back from a stay there, too). As far as I know, it's not supposed to stop all-day service for the rest of 2012. Have fun!
