refurbishment schedule ???

I just read that Buzz Lightyear will go down for refurbishing while we are in WDW (Jan 4). We plan on being at MK on Jan 3. Are they pretty good about starting on the day stated or do they ever start early? We want to be sure we get our Buzz in!!

I went to Haunted Mansion on the last day it was open prior to scheduled refurbishment. I think they stick pretty tightly to the published dates -- otherrwise they'd have lots of unhappy people.

They're usually pretty good about the last day the attraction will be open, but less so about the first day the attraction will be open after the rehab. Most of the time, it reopens earlier; sometimes later.

It would be an extreme circumstance that they would start refurbishment early. They usually have to schedule their maintenance people so they normally follow that schedule to minimize costs.
