I got my nice new straw hat wet, and now the brim is "too floppy". I read online that I can use spray starch /iron it back into its previous shape. I really have nothing to lose, but I hope to do it right.

Does anyone have any tips or advice on doing this?

You will want realistic expectations (they are difficult to shape) a steamer, and spray starch. It also helps to have a hat form or something that can be used as a hat form (maybe cardboard covered in something waterproof). I've gotten them "better" but never good. (Felted hats I can get better than straw).

Thanks for the tips. Since I've already ruined the hat, I really have nothing to lose by trying.

I think aquanet is what you need to stiffen it. Steam it back into shape and spray it. There are some great videos on YouTube by a pro at jj hats in NY
