I'm thinking of getting an 32G Ipod Touch but it's a bit out of our price range. But I saw a refurbished one for $229. Is a refurb one good? I usually buy new so I'm a little nervous about refurbished. Don't want to get a lemon. It comes with a 1 yr warranty which is good and I think I can buy an additional year. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

I have an 8GB refurbed Ipod touch, never had a problem with it, it comes in brand new condition (I think mine had a scratch on the back), but you get all the same packaging, charger, etc. I have experience with other refurb products as well (cell phones, etc.) and I've never had a problem with anything refurbished. And there is still the warranty. Go for it, Apple is definitely a company I'd trust for refurbished products.

I've gotten 3 now directly from Apple with no problems at all.
(If you're talking getting from someone other than Apple,I might be more leery.)

If you are looking on the apple site just note it is the previous generation that does not include camera and such. I would not because of this. If that does not matter to you then go ahead.

We have 2 ipod touch refurbs, a 32g & an 8g (for my 10 year old). We got them for Christmas & have had no problems with them at all.

I've purchased several refurb Apple computers as well as most recently an 8gb touch for my DD7 for this past Christmas. My experience is that every item I have ever purchased refurbished from them looks and performs brand new...and it comes with the same warranty. So, if you are talking about buying a refurb directly from Apple I say go for it!!

Thanks everyone. Yes I was thinking of getting it from Apple directly. The camera doesn't really matter (have a camera on my cell). Now I just need to budget for it. :rotfl:

I bought an 8 gig one for dd8 for Christmas and it is perfect. It's the inside that is "refurbished" the outer casing is brand new and you can't tell looking at it that it's not new. I recently got a refurbed iPad also directly from apple and it's great too. I would go for it, it's a good way to get a lower price.

direct from Apple, no issues with refurbs. And if you charge it to a CC that doubles warranty, thats even better ;)
Great deals, when you can get them.:wizard:

I've bought 2 refurbed touches from Apple and have been using them almost 2 years now with no problems. They replace the battery and screen (I think its in the fineprint somewhere).

We got a refurb 8 Touch from Apple for Christmas and we are so happy that dh wants a 32 for himself. No problems, same warrenty from Apple and less money out of my pocket. Win win for me!!

o bought my son the 16g refurbished last year..no problems its almost a year old. when i buy one for my other son i'd definitly go w/a refurbished again.
