Has anyone booked the real cheap flights with SWA (the ones all the way to the right) and then wanted to get the DING fares if they came up later? How hard was it to refund the semi cheap flights for the now cheaper flights?
I booked the cheap internet fare, and then Ding came out with one even cheaper. So to save another $30, I called SWA and she helped me cancel the internet fare and rebook the Ding fare. You want to do this quickly because you want to be certain the Ding flight is still available when you cancel your original flight. I used the funds from the cancelled flight and applied them to the Ding flight. You can use the credit for any flight if used within 1 yr, or like me, you can apply for a refund after your trip for the difference. You just save both receipts and mail them to the refund Dept. of SWA. All the info is on the SWA home page under Travel tools I think.
OK, so even if you bought their lowest price (non-ding) flight, they'll let you trade the cost in for the Ding tickets? What happens with the rest of the cost? does it get stuck in SWA "credit"?
