Refund questions

We have a November cruise booked and are not going due to PIF coming soon and so much uncertain to tie up the total payment. We will pass our OBB credits in December so no real reason to move other than what we have already paid. And the new cancellations on moved after PIF cruises don’t make it enough better for us yet.

is there any other benefit to moving rather than a new booking when fall 2021 comes out?

how do the refund to Disney gift cards if I used the same one? We reloaded the same one to make payments but will have over the $1,000 max refunded. I know someone out there has dealt with this before.

Thanks for the opinions and info.

From what I understand, if you use Disney Gift Cards to pay for the cruise upon a refund they put the funds back on the most recently used Gift Card, if that reaches capacity, DCL usually cuts a check to send the balance to you, although reports are that it can take up to 60 days for that to happen. Good Luck!

We have March 2021, which is a rebook for our previous March cruise. My mom is begging me to just cancel. I don't want to cancel, yet, but I don't want to be one of the first back if cruises start up in, say Jan. or Feb.

We have the option to move as late as March 2022, which, I assume is a one-time move and probably comes with it's own issues, but there isn't anything posted to move the sailing to. If those cruises were listed, I'd be on the phone, but otherwise, it's all just smoke and mirrors to the tune of "please don't ask for a refund yet". Not sure what to do. We do want to sail. We don't want a refund, but we don't want to be guinea pigs with the "new normal". Don't charge me full price for a cruise that ends up going almost nowhere due to port closures where there are no shows and the pools are closed.

Also, our northern border is still closed, so until that opens AND there is no 14 quarantine upon returning, I can't go anywhere. I guess I still have until Oct PIF of new cruise to take a refund, but it's not looking like anyone will have answers by then, either.

DCL won't cut you a check. If you paid over $1,000 on a single gift card, it will generate an error that will take extra time for them to resolve. However, if you tell them that you don't still have all of the gift cards, they will just send you e-gift cards. Instead of it taking a few days, it took about 2 weeks. (I had MOST of my cards; they said that it would be a significant delay if they tried to only refund to a certain number of cards so I instead received 8 e-gift cards with $1,000 each and one with the remainder.)
