Refund on Unused Ticket?

We have a trip planned in June with our 4 daughters. One of our daughters is graduating college in May (YEA!!) and she is busy applying for jobs (again...YEA!!). She is going to mention the days of our trip if she gets an interview, but we just don't know what will happen in the next couple of months. Now that we are at the point where we can make Fastpass + plans, I am wondering what to do about buying her a ticket. If she is unable to come with us, will Disney take the ticket back if it's completely unused? I'm assuming they're nonrefundable, but I just thought I'd ask.

their policy is no refunds. That being said I was able to get refunds on Halloween Party tickets when my father passed away unexpectedly the day before we were to check in.

FYI - you don't usually mention time off in an interview. You wait until you're offered the job and then mention your plans. Employers usually are understanding about people having plans made before they started with the company. That's my experience, anyways.

Disney tickets are nonrefundable once you purchase them. While they sometimes will make exceptions for hard ticket events, I've never heard of them making an exception for park tickets and don't think they ever will.

However, if it's completely unused then you can always just hold onto it. They don't go bad until 14 days after first use (unless you purchase no expiration). So it may be worth just purchasing it and holding onto it until the next trip if you can't use it.

Alternatively, you can wait till you get to WDW to purchase and just make FP+ reservations on the first day you have the ticket. There will probably be plenty of availability still for your trip. I've done trips with 2 days notice as well as changed FPs on the day of and got everything I wanted.

Exactly this. If a company wants you and takes the time to do background-check and paperwork and who knows what else...they will accept if you say you have vacation already paid for.

However...if its a close call between two people and one of them said they have to take off the next month for vacation, it will lower your ranking.

DON'T mention it until an offer is made.
