Refund on DDP with DVC rental

Here's a post I hoped that I would never have to write... Is it possible to get a refund on the DDP for a DVC stay? We had the DDP added using gift cards that I'm not sure we even have anymore for a DVC rental. It's now looking very possible that we may have to cancel our trip. I'm ok with loosing money on the DVC rental, that's the risk I took, but I would like to get the money paid for the DDP back if possible.

If I can get a refund, does anyone know the time limits? What happens if the original gift cards are not available anymore?

I'm hoping that there is something that can be done... It would be nice to have a bit of sunshine in my day...

Like any rental, it will be between you and the member you are renting from (or company).

Disney allows changes to DDP 72 hours or more prior to check in date, so a refund should be possible in that time frame.

The refund would be given the way you paid by Disney so if you don't have the gift cards anymore, you likely would not be satisfied with the refund. I believe when you have gift cards used the money is refunded onto those gift cards when the plan is canceled so find the gift cards as the DVC member likely would not be able to easily get the dining plan refunded any other way.
