Refund for SW credits?

I booked internet special round trip flights and want to change to another flight outbound which is cheaper and gives us three more days at Disney. I called 1-800-435-9792 and was told I had to change it over the internet myself and I would get credit for the difference. I read a previous thread but couldn't find it about a number to call to get the difference credited back to the credit card used. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.
 
You need to look for the customer service number on Southwest's site that is NOT an 800#. This worked for me last year!!

Try 214-792-4223 Central time, m-f 8 to 5. This number is for Customer Relations, Not reservations and they have more "power" to help you out. There are some VERY knowledgeable and kind people there. Ask REALLY nicely :rotfl2: and

I am almost positive that you will not get the difference refuned to your CC if you change anything on your itinerary - date, time or airport. They will only make the CC refund if you don't make changes, only the price has gone down. I have been able to do this several time, but only when I haven't made any changes.
 

We were able to get a credit refunded to our credit card last September when switching from internet rate to ding, but it was for the same flights. I do hear that SW won't refund if you change flights. However, I'd try - what have you got to lose? I wrote to the Customer Service address on the website, and about 2 months later, a credit showed up on our card!
 
Ditto about credit back to credit card if you didn't change flight number, date, time, anything.

Last year we were credited back to our card (no changes) but did have to call that toll number and did have to wait until the trip was over.

I have called numerous times trying to find an agent that will give a refund when I changed flight times, but no luck. They gave the credit for future travel, but no money back.
 
You will only get a cc refund if only the price changes. If you change date, time or airport then you will get credit for future travel.

You don't have to wait until your trip is over. I just helped a coworker today who was so excited she found her flight for a lower price. Luckily I still had the # stored in my cell phone so she called before we left work and they told her it would be credited in a few days. Her flight is not until July. :goodvibes
