Hi,

I have read some comments in other threads which allude to refrigerators not being cold enough to keep food and drinks cold. Honestly, I'm mostly interested in chilling some wine. :rolleyes1

Can anyone shed some light on this topic?

Thanks! :thanks:

Yes it's cold enough there is a temperature dial in the refrigerator.the stateroom hosts are required to set it at a high temp between cruises to save energy. Just when you arrive turn it where it will be cold

We were just on the magic and the cooler in our room barely chilled the wine. On the fantasy last September and it was similar.

I had the opposite experience on the Fantasy A thin layer of ice formed in our water bottles. I found it very cold.

Sounds like setting the temp control is key ... who woulda thought. :)

This is based upon what I have read here on the boards.

I believe the mixed reviews could be from the fact some of the refrigerators were a non compressor type. They were a thermoelectric type. These type would only cool. A traditional type uses a compressor. I believe that all of the mini refrigerators on the Fantasy are the compressor type. I am sure others with 1st hand experience will correct me if I am wrong.

We purchased a thermo-electric wine cooler. It was a mistake. I hope you are correct.

I got a mini refrigerator for my office years ago. I didn't realize it was that type until it was too late. If I added something that was already cold, it would keep for a while. But it never really got something cold if it started at room temp. Again, I believe all of the Fantasy mini refrigerators are the "regular" type. Gotta keep that wine and beer cold. lol

You know, I never looked for a temperature controller. Guess I need to. All I know is that I tried to keep one of those little containers of milk overnight and it was warmish in the morning. I just threw it away. Yuck. :scared:
