Hi All

Can anyone advise how you prove you need a refrigerator in your room for medical reasons?

Thanks

I'm not sure you need to prove it but just in case you could bring a Dr's note or prescription medication with a label on it. When I made my reservation I then called the resort and mentioned I would need a fridge for my DD12s insulin storage. They said it would be no charge and no problem but didn't mention any proof required.

We have never been asked to provide proof. But I guess they could always open the fridge to find my lone bottle of medicine if they wanted.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
My DH takes a couple of meds for different conditions, so I wondered whether I needed to bring documentation as proof but it would appear not.

How far in advance do you need to call to ask for this? I will need a frig for med reasons--going in April--booked through CheapTickets. Do I need to have CheapTickets contact the hotel (RP) or can I call directly?

Call direct. Have your cheaptickets reservation number and they'll give you a Loew's reservation number and put it on your reservation. In fact, I just e-mailed the concierge and it was all done and confirmed by e-mail.

do let the hotel know in advance if you require a fridge for medical reasons.

they will hold one for you if known in advance.

guests at the hotel can rent the small dorm like fridge for any reason at $15 per nights.

a hotel can run out of the mini fridges as anyone can ask for one.

you can have the needed medicine stored at check in time by the TM.
just ask and they will help you out.

rooms are not always ready when you check in.

So there are no refrigerators in rooms at the deluxe resorts unless you request it?
So, there's an empty space big enough for a fridge in every room just in case?

I'm used to the Disney resorts having a fridge as standard for our drinks/breakfasts, and was wondering about Universal resorts- first time staying on site.

Remember that not all Disney resorts had fridges until a couple years ago, and they have taken up significant clothes-storage space in the ones where they had to make room for them!

HRH recently changed their mini-bar fridges over to just fridges that are in the rooms. I hope RPR is doing the same thing with their current renovation.

At RPR in the past they've brought in this weird table and plunked it down in an awkward spot. The fridge went on top of that.

This time I *think* we ended up in an accessible, or accessible-ish, room, and there was a big spot under the vanity where they put it.

We just had them put it under the bathroom sink which is to what you may be referring. There's a large unused area there.
