I have been banking with Wachovia for 28 years and my brother for 24, we are both ready to close our accounts and move. We both reached this point independantly, using different branches in different cities and were surprised that both our experiences had been so bad. I have direct deposit that for 20 plus years went in the last thursday night of the month, my official payday is friday. I have arranged many autopayments for the last Friday. Now, on 3 occasions when my account was low, they have held the deposit and processed the checks from largest to smallest, dropping my account below 0. they hit me with 300.00 fees for bounce fees, then deposited my check immediately after. My employer still sends the money on Thurs., no changes. Other months when my balance is fine, they still deposit on Thur. My brother had the EXACT same thing happen, so this is a software change at Wachovia meant to maximize fees.
