Under the new rules with the generic mugs if someone was dinning at a Resort restaurant and wanted a soda when they left, they could use the generic mug at that Resort because they say on them good at all Good at all Resort Beverage Island Stations or something like that. Besides since the mugs are the same design no one would know where they were purchased and now WDW is encouraging guests to use these mugs at other Resorts. With the new generic refillable mugs that can be used at all the resorts, this brings a new question. If you are eating at a restaurant at one of the resorts, can you take your filled mug in with you? Or is that just too tacky?

I personally believe WDW knew guests were using the Resort design mugs at other Resorts besides the ones where they purchased them, so they used the Year Of A Million Dreams as a marketing campaign to sell generic mugs good at all the Resorts.
It's amaizing the things you can learn on Disboards.Wow, I had no idea they even started that! (obviously). Interesting.
