Refillable mugs???

I heard that you can only use the refillable mugs that you buy at the resorts for the time that you are there not any other time. My question is if I buy them in August how do they know when I got the mug when I go back to Disney in December? I remember that they use to be lifetime.

Also can I use a mug that I got from Port Orleans at the Pop Century Resort?

It now says on the side of the mugs "FREE REFILLS UNTIL THE END OF YOUR STAY".

Also can I use a mug that I got from Port Orleans at the Pop Century Resort?

And the mugs also say "REFILLABLE ONLY AT LOCATION PURCHASED". Hope that helps. -Stephanie
