Refillable Mugs

You might also tell DH that the drinks will probably go flat. I sometimes take a 1/2 liter drink bottle and refill it from a 2 liter. I don't really mind, but they really do go flat a lot faster than having a fresh 1/2 liter.

lol money isnt that tight, but no grocery stop. do they sale 2L at the hotel shop or only the normal 16 oz bottles... that will get expensive very fast.

Isn't there a grocery delivery service that you could check out? Or, you could ship some food supplies in a box, before you got there! Just thoughts...

You said you didn't want a grocery stop because you didn't want to spend your vacation grocery shopping, but really stopping into the store for a couple of 2 Liters would only take a few minutes. Probably less time than it would take for you to walk to the gift shop from your quiet room, buy the 2 Liters and then walk back. The grocery stop sounds like your best and cheapest solution.

Heck,
If you can manage a grocery stop on your ride to WDW, stop at any gas station or convienance store and pick up a couple of 12 packs of cans. They don't go flat and ice up nicely with the free ice they have at the resorts.
Personally, if I saw what your husband was proposing, I doubt I would bat an eye. The soda is unlimited for the price of the mug, so, what is the difference if you take a lot at one time?

I'm here at Disney now..and chatted with one of the the food court managers at length. Told him of all your concerns..he was surprised to find so many are more concerned than they are. He says it's prob less than one in a thousand bringing back mugs (and he thinks that is a very high estimate), and he has no problem with it. He says he looks at it as good cutomer service, and in some instances, that might be just the thing to bring someone back to a Disney hotel (which we're told down here are just not filling), if they think Disney people care about their dollar.

I looked around both times I was down there..and I seemed to be the only one this trip refilling an older mug. One person filling a park mug, but the rest all have the newer mugs.

And did I hear any of the cashiers telling people to bring them back..no, but...well, the manager did, as I stood talking to him..a family was considering purchasing, and he told them they could bring them back on their next trip.
