I read online that they're $16.99 for "length of trip" longer than 3 days. Is that true?

I'll be there for 8 days so unlimited coffee/soda at POP makes it seem like it's worth it. Plus I love travel mugs.

We always get the mugs. But drink a lot of coffee, tea, and diet soda during the week.

that's right
$16.99+tax for length of stay (from purchase until midnight after check out)

I watched them activate ours in April...it's actually 14 days from when they are activated, and I've read on this forum that if your stay is longer than 14 days you can get it extended, but I can't personally confirm that part.

OP: I think it's worth it to have the unlimited access to the soda, coffee, and tea during my stay, and I love the souvenier mug (I'm using one right now) but realize that this is only works in the resorts during the hours that the quick serve or drink fill station is open, not in the parks.

I believe 6 separate visits is the break even point. Six separate visits as opposed to six drinks since you get free refills during the same visit. But for me, my early morning walk for coffee makes it worth it, even if I don't end up eating a meal in the dining location. Plus as has been pointed out, I like them as souvenirs also.

I can confirm this

being from europe we have access to 21 days tickets, and stays up to 21 nights (so cool on the free dining plan :p )

the refillable mugs are valid for 14 days, and once you reach that point, the Cast Member at the food court register can extend its validity. Very easy.

For 8 days I think it's worth it, we've always gotten them and it's paid off for our family. Plus the convenience of just filling your mug and being on your way is great. No standing in line just to buy a drink...and that's worth when you NEED coffee at 7:00 a.m.!! :drinking1

Thanks everyone for your input! I agree. I brought instant packets of coffee last time and it was a MAJOR pain in the butt trying to make it.

The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to use the mug to refill (by chip). The cups are pretty small - so I can't easily refill a large mug to bring back to my room.

Otherwise, it's a good deal.

They could stand to make them a bit bigger...they'll hold one cup of coffee with milk, that's about it. I usually have my soda gone before I even make it back to the room. Then again, I'm sure they would rather you hang around the food court while drinking your soda - more chance you'll cave and get something else to eat.

The old "good forever" mugs were larger...

We very much enjoyed having the refillable mugs. We were there 8 days and felt they were worth it. Plus, now I get to use it at home, and I can't help but grin a little whenever I pull it out of the cabinet. Now if I could just get a Disney beverage station installed in my kitchen . . .

We think they're worth it! We get one or two cups of coffee in the mornings, and then usually end up with a couple of soda refills later in the day (we don't drink soda much at home so it's a treat for us). I love using the mugs at home and at work!

I do wish they had them with different resort designs like they used to..

Thanks everyone! I'll be there 8 days so I think I'm going to get the mug. Plus I love it as a souvenir!

The mugs are really cute and handy for a cup of coffee in the morning, lemonade mid-day and hot coco at night. It isn't as handy if your room is far away from the food court but still worth it if you plan to spend some time at the pool (Hippie Dippy) and plan a few meals at the food court.

I swear when they activated mine last November (at POP) they gave it a month so I gave my mug to my Mom's friend (she was traveling in early December). Not sure why that was but the CM just typed in a random date it appeared. We had free dining in November so we got the mug free. She didn't have the dining plan for her December trip so I offered it to her. Kind of an odd situation but it seems that CM's at the food court have the ability to choose the expiration date.

I found it worth it for only a 4 night stay. I only got one to keep the cost down and just split it with my wife. We filled it up in the morning (down a few cups for the cafeeine boost) and sipped either coffee or soda on the way to the parks and then once it was empty I just attached it to my belt and used it for ice/water the rest of the day.

My in-laws bought one as well and my sister in-law's family got one as well (which they just gave to us to use since we stayed a day or two longer than they did.

The activation now is just a set number of days and is NOT tied into your specifici length of stay.

I would suggest hand-washing the mug once you get home .. it will fade pretty fast with repeated washing in the heat of a dishwasher.
