I was hoping someone might be abl to point me in the right direction to see what the refillable mugs are like. I'm wondering if they have straws If so that would work for my ds and would save a bundle.

Side thing.. does anyone know if they give you cups of ice at the parks for the asking or is it just water? Thanks

They do not come with straws. It's kind of like a travel mug with a top that can swivel open and closed. I use mine all the time.

Yes, they give you free cups of water and/or ice at the counter service restaurants.

Thanks. I was hoping that they were the travel type mugs wit hthe fat straws attached but oh well. Maybe between now and next Sept. ds will get better with a cup

Here is a picture of the mugs from 2007. The ones for 2008 are exactly the same, but don't include the date. You can definitely fit a straw in the hole in the lid of the mug - we often did that when using ours.

Do they still offer the 'fat' refillable mugs without the swivel top in addition to the travel ones? Or did the move to only one choice (travel version) in the last 2 years?

You can get free ice water at any counter service. It is not a childs size version either.

They only have one type of mug now - the travel type as pictured. The exception is CSR which has a different wide mug with Pepper Market on it. CSR does not have the thinner YOAMD mug.

The mugs are sold at each Resorts counter service location. Their cost is $12.49 and they can only be used at the Resorts.

Is there a similar plan that can be used at the parks, or would we just have to purchase individual drinks?

I am not sure but I think the Animal Kingdom has some mug you can purchase for the day, so maybe someone can confirm that. Besides that at the other parks the only way to get drinks is to purchase them in bottles or from the fountain in paper cups at the various counter service locations.

What if you are doing a split stay at two resorts? I guess buying a mug would not be that great a deal, right?

If your doing a split stay it's ok to use the same mugs at the next Resort you stay at. The Exception to that rule is at Coronado Springs because as mentioned before they are the only Resort not to sell the YOAMD mugs, so they could not be used there and because the Pepper Market is not owned by WDW.

Great! We are doing POP and AKL - so that will work out great!

Actually,it is the Animal Kingdom theme park,Jason, that has the mug for the day,NOT the Animal Kingdom Lodge. And the EXCEPTION,not the EXPECTION,is CSR because the Pepper Market isn't Disney-owned.

If I remember correctly, they do have. But, I if it is the mug/cup I am thinking about, it was a pain to deal with all day long.

We are staying at the Coronado Springs Resort and have the Deluxe Dining Plan. Will be able to use the refillable mugs at all at this resort??

I meant to say the Animal Kingdom, so I will edit that previous post. I also knew the rules with CSR because Pepper Market is not owned by Disney, so I just forgot to put that part in.
