Sorry if this question has already been asked, but the refillable mugs that they offer in the resorts, how exactly do they work? Can you take them into the parks or can you only use them in the resort they were purchased?:goodvibes TIA

You can only use them at the resort in which they were purchased. It would be nice if you could use them at the parks. That thing would be strapped to my hip!:rotfl:

Like the previous poster said, you can only use the resort refillable mugs at that particular resort.

I would like to point out though that some of the theme parks have refillable mugs. I know that I have seen them at the Animal Kingdom.

Except that now all the resorts have the same design, how do they stop you from using a cup at another resort?

I also wonder this. I remember that each resort used to have specific design, but now they all look the same. I will say I do like the "look" of the mugs better now and I really don't care where someone is using their mug since its none of my buisness anyway, but since this has always been such a hot topic I wondered if anyone else had noticed this.

BTW, I thought I should add that I have never taken a mug off of the resort property its just that I don't notice or care what others do with their mugs. Just in case this becomes another heated thread ;)

popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: I can't wait to hear what people have to say from this question.. popcorn::

I have taken our mugs home does that count? :thumbsup2 j/k

There is a new policy for the new generic mugs.

The new mugs say on the handle that they are good at the resort refill stations during the stay in which you purchased them--notice stations with an s.

So you may refill the mug at any of the resort refill stations but only for the one trip.

Great news for guests who have split stays!

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

BTW:

CMs are now approaching guests with old mugs.

The resorts have switched over to new generic mugs which have the year 2007 on them.

It has been noted that CMs are now approaching guests with old mugs.

Hi, all. My family of four drove from NJ to WDW. We spent our first night, (6/23) at All Star Music - the Jazz Building. We've never been in a value resort before, and were pleasantly surprised. The room was perfectly adequate for my family. I was expecting a shoe-box with a bed. It really wasn't bad at all. The pool was fun - but crowded. The food court was pretty good, but also kind of crowded. My kids enjoyed the large icons and the other children. They showed Pirates of the Caribbean at night, and that was fun! It really was a pleasant surprise for us.

We checked into the Wilderness Lodge on Sunday, 6/24. We got there around 8:30 a.m. - and SURPRISE - our room was ready. We were given room 6157 - inner courtyard room with bunkbeds and a fabulous view of the pool (and bay lake). We were loving it. Our last trip we had room 6145. We were able to view the fireworks from our balcony. The pool was never overly crowded, and there was always a chair available poolside. The kiddie pool was good for my four-year old - however; he liked the adult pool with the life jacket. Roaring Forks was decent, but always crowded.

They did switch over to the new mug design, and I did see the cashiers approach people using the old design.

I wasn't too fond of the food choices (or lack of). And, my 9-year old son can eat more than 4 little chicken tenders since he is almost five feet tall! So, they should re-evaluate the kids menu.

Whispering Canyon was a fun time! We ate there twice for breakfast and once for dinner. The food was really good, and we had a blast. There was always a boat within 10 minutes of us arriving on the dock. We always managed to miss the bus we needed, but never waited more than 15 minutes for the next one. The biggest problem was trying to leave Epcot at night and having to wait for three busses before we could board.

Funny enough, every time I walked through the halls at the Lodge, I always felt like I was the only one there!

Oh, and I received five towel animals during my stay!

Any ?'s, please ask.

OK! I have the mugs from our april stay the generic one with Mickey and Minnie chip, dale, donald, daisy, goofy, pluto and the castle with blue or black or gray handles and they say 2007 on them! By the handle on the mug it says
Free Refills available at OUR Resort Beverage ISLANDS until the end of the stay in which the mug was purchased! I can see where this may be miss leading to some because it says OUR RESORT BEVERAGE ISLANDS if you read into it to far I think you would say it meant at any disney resort beverage islands . But we all know it is for the resort in which you purchase it! I personally think it should be good at any resort during the stay in which you purchased it! the use of old mugs I think I would say is greedy you are already getting such a good deal on free refills for $11.99 plus tax even if you stay 2 days or 1 shall I say this pays for itself especially if it's summer! I think if people keep abusing it disney will do away with it! Maybe they need to up the price a few dollars and make it available for free refills at any resort. That would be nicce or keep the price the same and make it for any resort during the stay in which the mug is purchased! thats my opion I think it's horrible that People would bring an old mug for free refills! I seen this alot during our stay I was like wow that mugs cool wonder where they got that and when you got close enough it was a different year! Though our last stay at the beach club a year and a half ago we got refillable mugs that were a beach scene and they said yacht and beach club and they didnt have a year on them they had them in yellow, blue and redand underneath that handle it states Free Refillsuntil the END OF YOUR STAY, REFILLS ONLY AT LOCATION PURCHASED. So thats the differnce between the one from the Beach Club in 2005 and the generic one from 2007. Hope this helps!

I knew the water parks had them but I didn't know that AK did. I learn something new everyday on the Dis. ;)

I agree with Goofy22. I do not think people should be using old mugs.IMHO

Just wanted to add a little bit of information. We just got back from a week long trip at the BCV we bought refillable mugs at the Marketplace. The cashier asked if we were familiar with the program and we answered yes- then she asked if we knew where in the hotel we could fill them up- we wanted to be positive so we asked, and she gave us the locations and then she went on to say- You can also fill them at any resort beverage station while you are here this time. So I wasn't quite sure about it, although it sounded good! Anyway we were resort hoppping on our last day to check out some other resorts, and pools (no controversy, we are DVC members and DID call ahead) So we went to the Polynesian and were able to refill there- they were selling the new blue mugs. we went to the Wilderness Lodge next, and they were actually still selling mugs that were more green and said Wilderness Lodge on them, however we were able to refill opur mugs here also. But, when we went to Coronado Springs, where they are still selling Specific Coronado Springs mugs, The man at the pool bar said that he would fill it, but he was not supposed to, only CSR mugs. So I said nevermind, and got a water with the counter service credit that I used at the poolside "restaurant" there.

Just a little more info although it probably ADDS to the confusion rather than clears it up!

Other guests have also been told that they can refill the new YOMD mug at ANY of the resort beverage stations during their stay.

Just an FYI

The Pepper Market and pool bar at CSR are run by an independant company and are not run by Disney. I think that is why they will not refill the generic mug.

Have fun planning your next trip to Disney!:wizard:
