Refillable Mugs

OK, now POP has slushies. Im so happy about that, but want to know, if I paid 13 dollars for the mug. When, I go to fill up, do I pay a nominal fee for each refill? Or are the refills free for the duration of trip? Im confused, for I just read something about a barcode??Now for my second question. Do people take thier mugs with them to the parks. I know, you cant get refills, in the parks. But, was wondering do must people fill up in the morning, and take thier mugs with them in transit to the park. If you do, how do u deal with holding them all day? They dont have clips, to clip onto your belt do they? TIA everyone. :moped:

At the resorts, the refills are free for the duration of the trip. The bar code "issues" apply to BB and TL, where a different type of mug can be purchased. They use a bar code system to be sure your mug is still valid. But at the resorts, once you pay for the mug, you are good to go - no need to return to the registers, just fill up (with whatever beverages are on the list at your resort - usually soda/pop, ice tea, lemonade/punch, tea, coffe, hot chocolate).
Personal choice about taking the mugs to the parks. I see many people who do, but we usually don't as I don't want to carry them around all day. Sometimes we will take ours if we are going back to a park for an hour or 2 at night and want to fill up as we walk back to our room (particularly if our room/building is far from the food area). I don't like carrying around anything extra during a long day at the parks.

You only pay once, than can refill as much as you want at your resort, barcodes and special mugs are only at the water parks.

On question #2-I never wanted to carry around a mug to the parks and in past trips we didn't. This past trip my BF decided he wanted to take the mug with us and it ended up being a great idea. It was not even that hot when we were there in May but it was nice to have a drink whenever we wanted. We filled it up in the morning before heading on the bus, usually with lemonade and lots of ice. Then as we made our way through the parks we could refill at water fountains, and even sodas, etc. when we ate meals. A few times we just filled with ice, or got ice water at counter service and put it in the mugs. It definitely saved us money as to avoid buying drinks which we didn't want to carry anyway. There is a handle on the mugs which we easily attached to our shoulder bag, and since the lid closes (not leak proof, but better than nothing) we didn't have any spills!! Enjoy your trip!

I called Picabu's to find out the price of the refillable mugs. The man said they are $10.55 with tax and they can ONLY be used at Picabu's - no other Swan/Dolphin restaurant.

Anyone who's used the mugs at Picabu? Please tell me as many drink choices for the refillable mugs as you can think of. Did someone tell me they brew Starbucks coffee here? :surfweb:

Are they a coke or pepsi place? Besides soft drinks (sodas), can you refill with juices or slushies, or milk?

Thanks!!! :thumbsup2
