For those who have purchased the refillable mugs at FW, do you feel it was worth it? We will be in a cabin and from my understanding, we will not be close enough to walk to the areas that you would get your mugs filled. Also, what beverages do they have? I thought I heard somewhere that you could only get coffee/tea with the mugs and soda was extra.

Also, how much are the mugs?

Thanks!

Pam

You can only buy the mug at Trails End (marina area), I forget how much.

You can refill at two locations:

Trails End
Coffee
Tea
Fountain drinks

Meadows Trading Post
Coffee
Tea

I found it well worth the cost only for my morning cofffee. But, I enjoy a quick bike ride in the morning so it was easy to drop by the Meadows Trading Post and fill it up.

If you are not going to be in these areas often it probably willnot be worth the money

we have requested a cabin in the 2500 loop, so the mugs probably won't be a good idea for us...thanks for the info!

We bought the mugs. We keep them in our trailer (so they don't get lost at home) and have used them on every trip to Ft Wilderness. Huge money saver when you consider how much sodas cost individually.

I think we paid around $10 each.

My sons got theirs filled at the Wilderness Lodge as well. I don't know if that's policy or if the lady was just being nice.

If you don't think you'll be going to FW very often then you may want to save your money... unless you want the mugs as souvenirs.

The mugs stopped being worth it for my kids when they were no longer allowed to get hot chocolate at the Meadows Trading Post. I used them for coffee a lot. We had some problems getting soda refills at Trails' End, during busy times the hostess was too busy to fill them for us. You are not supposed to take mugs back to use on a second trip, now they tell you they are for this visit only when you buy them.

we have them to but also do not feel they are worth it now that you cannot get hot chocolate at the meadows. Really don't think it is worth running down to TE every time you want to get a soda. Just MHO.:D

There is a pretty big sign at Roaring Forks at WL clearly showing which mug (Wilderness Lodge mug) can be filled there. Mugs from other resorts, including FW, aren't supposed to be refilled there.::MickeyMo

We have found our mugs worth every penny.... As we load the boat we stop in for a soda... on the way back we stop i for a soda. some times just soda no ice and take it back to the camper and get a cup of ice and that way you can have two cokes out out one cup.... If you do not go towards the marina often then I do not think it would be worth it. We hop in the golf cart and head that way throuout the day...

depends on your plans.

Sounds like too big of a hassle for me. We already have a coffee pot at our site and a cooler full of beverages.
