Refillable Mugs @ Universal

For those who might be curious, I called Busch Gardens and asked if I could reuse my mug for refills. They said no. At least I won't lug the giant thing down to Florida now!

The 69¢ refills at Universal are a bargain!! Is that available at all the drink places? Do we get a AAA discount on top of that? Wouldn't that be nifty!

Just for the record..........
We just returned from 10 day trip to Universal. HRH and PBH.
We bought 3 of the "red" plastic refilable cups the first day. They were $6.99 each to buy and refills were .69 each fill. This saved us a TON of money during our 10 day trip! It was VERY hot the last 2 weeks in Orlando!
BUT ......... the cups clearly say, they are to be "used the DAY of purchase ONLY". I threw them in the garbage at the hotel on our last day, or I would take a picture for you all.
I noticed a LOT of people carrying them from the water taxis to the parks early in the morning, and they can only be purchased IN the parks.........so everyone is using them for multiple days anyway.
But it is not correct to assume they are refillable "forever".

The mugs that refill for 69 cents are "supposed" to be good just for the day. The other refillable "theme" mugs are good forever.

The one day mugs are clear, and either red or purple. The theme mugs are different.

The red or purple refillables were first introduced to be used in conjunction with the meal deal as a sipper cup. The meal deal is only good for one day and thus the sipper cups were only good for one day. It seems they were popular enough to warrent selling them seperately from the meal deal. It may just be a summer thing or a permanent promotion on those cups. Who knows?
