Refillable Mugs at CBR (Worth the cost?)

We were a group of 7 and usually we have 2 or 3 people go and fill the mugs. With this system we had mugs and cups - so then we would go to the condiment area and fill our mugs then toss the cups. Sometimes they would give us a drink holder so we could carry it all back. A couple times we did not get lids because - according to them - we weren't supposed to be drinking out of the cups. Throwing out all those cups as soon as we got them was justt so wasteful I had a hard time. I am not saying I have a better idea right now, I just know we aren't doing it again.

Another random pet peeve? Cocoa. My kids love getting hot chocolate with their mugs and CMs would give them a cup filled with hot cocoa and one packet. I know this seems silly - but those cups needed 2. We had one CM that just gave us two from the beginning but my kids were too shy to ask for a second pack when they would fill their mugs. Is it a big deal? Nope, just a check in the 'cons' column for us getting refillable mugs right now.

Thanks for this question though - it reminded me to add hot cocoa packets to my amazon order.

They wouldn't give you lids for the cups they just filled??? I'd be really annoyed and would ask for a manager; that's ridiculous.

When we were at Poly in Sept. they would always ask if we wanted 1 or 2 packets for hot cocoa...that's a bummer it sounds like some of the cms at CBR are not being as considerate.

How is being served a beverage something you have doubts about? Honest question.

The beverage stations have never been as clean as they are now. The coffee areas especially. They will never be this clean again. Frankly, enjoy it while it lasts.

Just the awkwardness involved in having to transfer drinks...I’m a huge klutz and almost guaranteed to spill anything if it doesn’t have a lid, especially if there’s ice involved. I do everything over a sink just in case. The current system although necessary is an accident waiting to happen with me lol.

I’m also the weirdo who liked to mix sodas to make my own concoctions in the Freestyle machines lol. I’m sad that they got phased out but I get why and tbh I understand why people didn’t like them, I’ve never seen a Freestyle station anywhere that wasn’t gross as all get out after awhile.

It's a regular sized cup. No need to transfer to the mug. They always asked me if I wanted a lid and straw.

I don't know how CBR is doing it since I just asked for Diet Coke when I showed my mug picture there (I actually despise Freestyle machines because I hate getting remnants of other people's flavorings), but at Riviera, the person doing it did ask if I wanted one of the flavors.

It depends, IMO, how often you make trips to the fountain to refill them. We just never get to the refill station enough to bother. Which resort you stay at likely impacts it. Where your room is in relation the station can make it a super big PITA. We got the mugs once and just didn't get enough out of them. Believe me, I WANT to get them. Each visit I want to, but I know my family better. Millions love them though, so gauge your situation accordingly.

That is insane. At the Poly, they would sometimes ask if I wanted a lid, but it was never a problem getting one. The more I read about how silly they're being at CBR, the happier I am I changed my reservation away from it.

I actually love CBR, a couple CMs at the food court just helped make the mug less desirable for me, not the resort.

I am going to ask when we go to Beach Club in April if they can do the phone pic for refillable mugs, the kids might be more interested in the mugs if they can do it that way.

Yeah, I found myself screenshotting the original pic every day to make it at least more accessible.
