Refillable mug ?

We have an upcoming triple split stay and I am getting mixed info~
If we buy a length of stay mug will it be good for all 3 resorts?
If we get the dining plan for only the first resort stay, will the mug still be good at the other resorts after we are no longer on the dining plan?

The mugs work at all resort quick service locations. $16.99 (or a DDP) gets you 14 days use, but you might be able to get it extended if your accommodation length-of-stay is more than 14 days, although I'm not sure how that works with split stays

Thanks- we are considering getting the dining plan for the first 3 days, especially if that would save us from spending $68 for mugs! On our last trip we were told at the Contempo Cafe that it would only be good at that resort, and since we were only there for a few days and at AK much longer, we waited...

The mugs automatically come with 14 day use now for $16.99 plus tax. I stayed at Pop last September and was able to use the mug that I picked up there at Boardwalk Bakery.

As far as I know all mugs are now activated for 14 days and good at all resort quick service.

Yes. It's the way the mug program works now.

The mug is automatically set up for at least 14 days. We've had it set up for 15 or 16 - not sure if they cashier was guessing and set it up longer or if they were already set up that way. The refillable mug will work on any of the RFID systems throughout DisneyWorld (you can go to any resort and use it - even if you are not staying there). I've heard multiple times that if you are staying longer than 14 days, just tell the cashier that you are and they will extend it - but I don't have experience actually doing it.

Thats awesome, but seems nuts. We are thinking of paying to stay at a value resort for our first night. If we get counter service plan for one day- we would get mugs for 4 people for 8 nights?

We didn't even stay on site at all last time but still bought the mugs because we tend to leave the MK a lot to eat lunch or dinner at Roaring Forks at WL or at Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary or at Captain Cook's at Poly. We also like to eat breakfast at the Boardwalk Bakery a few times on each trip and we always eat at Mara at AKL once or twice to stock up on Zebra Domes. Lol. We were there for exactly two weeks. Bought the mug the first night and used it at all resorts for the entire two week stay.

The refillable mugs system is the same regardless whether you receive them via your dining plan credits or via purchasing them out of pocket.

Disney doesn't think so- been on two live chats and have been told no. The mug will not work after leaving first resort. Well, it has for me and many others. But they insist on the DDP it will only work as long as the dining credits, which makes sense....

The people you're chatting with are not even in Florida and have likely never actually been to Disney World.

Even back when there were shorter duration mug options available, the dining plans mugs were always activated for 14 days, even if you only had a one-night dining plan.

I had DDP in September 2015. My mug worked at any resort.

Yes. I've added the dining plan on a one or two day stay prior to our week long stay on multiple occasions, and used the mug throughout the entire stay without any problems. Not sure if that is what Disney intends, but it is how it works.
