refillable mug

A bit of a different slant on the refillable mugs issue. Does anyone know if you are allowed to use the mug while eating at Trails End? I seem to recall a CM telling me that this was not allowed. Not sure though. Anyone with experience on this?

Officially, no. The servers are not supposed to fill them for you while you're eating in the dining room. But, we usually fill ours at the counter before we go to sit down to eat. We have had some servers refill them for us, and some say they wouldn't fill them.

I would say it depends on the servers. We have some that filled it while eating there and we have had some that set the coffee pot in front of us and let us fill it.

We have never been told that we could not use it while eating.

(This has only been during breakfast hours)

Reading the fine print hidden under the handle of our AKL mugs:
Free refills till the end of your stay.
Refills only at location purchased.

There is NO way a person who needs glasses to read would or could even see this never mind read it!

No matter what our personal opinions are people will do what they feel they want to do. There is no sense in debating this as it only causes trouble

I completely agree. If Disney thought this was breaking them they would do something about it. Some people on this forum act like this is costing them personally. The way I see it is this. How many people buy these mugs that only come back ocassionally. I bought one in March and I've used it in June. When I go in July I will use it again and so forth and so on until Disney says no more. Somebody get a life and quit worrying about the mugs.

We definitely got our money's worth on ours, and will continue to use them until Disney makes us buy new ones We walk or golf cart to TE several times a day for coffee or soda. Everybody but my 4 year old son has their own at least.

Mugs purchased in the last few years don't have the fine the print and neither do the blue and white ones being sold now.

Yup, the new blue and white ones do have the fine print. It's written by the handle. I hadn't noticed that til I read this thread. I got ours in April at CBR and just read the fine print now while packing them to take back to reuse when we go to As tonight! I have lots of resort mugs, but going back to a different resort this year makes me happy for the 2007 mugs! OK flame away!

But I do want to point out that we have some fairly old mugs and I still don't see the fine print. Maybe it's faded but I've never noticed it if it was ever there.

$12 for a mug, that costs .20 plus syrup (that I heard is given to Disney by Coke), I don't think Disney is taking that much of a beating. Plus, when you think of it, the average Joe isn't there 3-5x a year like some of the people in this forum are.
