Refillable mug question

Can someone explain the refillable mugs to me? I didn't use them at all the last time I was there. I know they had them at Blizzard Beach and you bought them and could refill them throughout the day there. What about the resort mugs? Are they refillable only at the resort you buy them or how does it work? I am contemplating buying one but if they won't pay off I probably won't, since i'm only staying at the Boardwalk for five out of seven days. Thanks in advance!

Refillable mugs cost $12 and can only be refilled at your resort. They're good for coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soda. We bought ours at the BW bakery. But you can refill them at the bakery, Seashore Sweets, Leaping Horse Libations and the Belle Vue room. The Belle Vue room has breakfast items in the morning. If you use them 5 or 6 times, you've covered the cost and you have a mug. I usually have my coffee in the morning, take my mug with me to the parks (backpacks are wonderful) and when I get back to the resort I can refill it. It's also nice to use them at the pool.

Hope this helps.

I have a different opinion -

IMHO, the refillable mugs at BW are only worth buying if you want a souvenir to take home. (I mainly use mine at work). The locations for refills are not very convenient - especially for morning coffee! And they really don't hold enough to make the trip to get the mug filled worth it!. (Picture me outside the BW Bakery gulping down 3 cups one after another, LOL). I like to travel to the parks as light as I can and hate to carry a mug around with me all day.

The villas all have coffeemakers. Bring some coffee and filters (basket type) and brew your own in the room. Better coffee, more coffee, and you can enjoy it while you get ready. If you also buy some paper cups, you can take the last cup with you on the way to the parks. No running down those Loooooong (LOL) hallways in your jammies to get some.

That said, if you are a Luna Park pool person and like to drink a lot of soda while you are there, the mugs might be worth it if you get a chair near Leapin' Libations. Otherwise, we find it more economical to just buy soda at the grocery and keep it in the refrigerator in the villa.

Best wishes -

Yes! And might I add.... the lines for morning coffee at BCV and BW are outta control. Not sure if this is still true (or consistently true throughout the year), as my one and only experience with 'the mug' was from our Oct 2003 trip.
