cue nail biting, knee knocking, & teeth chattering....she DARED us.........

email sent at 10:10 am.

eccflash ... glad to know my gut feeling was right. I actually thought of the mug debates when I first saw the machines at the water parks last yr. I had a feeling they would be eventually be in use in the resorts. Now I jsut wish they'd make a parks refillable mug ... or the make the resort mugs good at the parks.

ok guys, let's all take a deep breathe. The official word is one time usage, but people have been told otherwise while there. If they do install the bar code readers, then we won't have to worry about it.

WDW.Guest.Communications@disneyworld.com

I called, and I posted what I was told in an earlier post. No one is denying what the signage is now (at least I'm not). The problem is the CM's (and food court managers) who try to encourage sales by pushing the "use forever" speech (and of course they have added the "good at any resort" spiel now, too)...looks like some food courts have decided to make their own decisions, which Guest communications has said is their right.
If you ask Guest Communications about getting a better room than you paid for, they'll also tell you, you should pay for whichever room you stay in..but that the resorts have the descretion here to offer more too. How many here turn down an upgraded room?
So as long as I go by what I was (and am still) told when I ask the food court managers, and you go by what you are told, what difference does it make? If they change to the coded mugs, then it may be a moot point.

Here is the email for guest communications ~ I have written them to ask about refillable mugs for life...

I DARE any of you to do the same and post the reponses here.

>>^..^<<

And I dare yo uto read the post by a WDW CM that is right above your post.

Lets see

We have mugs that now have the policy on the mug
We have signs at the food courts and
we have a CM stating the policy ... but yet the policy can't possibly mean what we "mug police" think it means

Uh..aren't you the same cast member who wrote the below in the pool hopping thread? I'm not sure you have read your manual correctly, or paid attention in CM school: )
How many years has it been since you were a CM?

OK Ill give the official word as a cast member. It is ok to pool hop if your staying at a disney resort.

Wow, and I thought I had a tough commute. Walden, NY to Orlando, FL every day -- you gotta admire someone who loves to work for Disney that much. :earseek:

LOL Eeyore1954... that is a hell of a commute for minimum wage :)

DMRick ~ did you send your email yet? Surely you cannot dispute the weight of a emailed response to the remarks of some nameless CM in the foodcourt at POR?

"If they do install the bar code readers, then we won't have to worry about it.'

but that's the point. we don't have to worry about it now. It's disney's job, not ours to worry about it.

LOL. He is th "ex-castmember in charge of code enforcement on all Disboards."

"but yet the policy can't possibly mean what we "mug police" think it means"

1. it obviously doesn't

2. you have just admitted that you are what i say you are. I think the discussion has proved my point.

Baloo ~ can you repeat that last post in English :p

I'm sorry but I did not understand a word of it.

last warning...please refrain from personal attacks.

Yes, I am accusing people of being silly little code enforcers of codes disney DOES NOT WANT ENFORCED. If they wanted them enforced, they would be. Don't you see how everything is so controlled at WDW...if they want to control it. What makes you, or your ilk, better at deciding what WDW wants to control than disney itself. That is why you are soo darn funny. You have these little internet power trips, & I'm telling people that you have no power, authority or information that will help them....because, in reality, you don't.
So how are we "enforcing" the policy? Who have we demanded that they cease and desist re-using their mugs? Who have we tossed insults at in an attempt to "right a wrong"? I think it's "too darn funny" that you equate stating personal implimentation of an opinion with some sort of Napoleonic complex.

My, and others, response to this issue is no different than the response I'd give if someone asked "Is it OK for off-site guests to use the Disney resort transportation sytem?" I'd respond: "Disney's policy is that the transportation system is intended for the use of Disney hotel guests.... but no one's ever seen a bus driver ask a rider for a room key so effectively anyone is allowed to ride the buses." That doesn't make me a "bus brown shirt". It's a factual statement. I'm not telling off-site guests "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT RIDING THE BUSES!" But at the same time, it would be factually incorrect to say "There's no policy against off-site people using the resort buses." People are better informed if they are given the whole story.

don't worry, i'm not running anywhere.
Well, you've developed a habit of popping in here every couple of pages to hurl an accusation and/or insult and then dissappearing.... only to repeat the process.

ya see, when I don't reply immediately, it means I am away from my computer leading a life. That is an odd post...

I really don't know what you mean. It is clear...if you need clarification, be specific, & I'll gladly give you clarification."

"So how are we "enforcing" the policy?"

by telling people what they can and cannot do.

1st response (I think it's automated?)

-----Original Message-----

Hello,

I have a question regarding the purchase of refillable resort mugs.

Are they good for only that stay or may I bring them back on a future trip and continue to receive refills?

Thank you for your time,

Cassie
